Chapter 23

“What you want to show me is in my own house?” I teased as I walked up the porch steps.

Leo had made himself comfortable by laying on our outdoor couch with his phone in his hand. At the sound of me approaching, he got to his feet.

“Yeah, more specifically, your room,” he played along and moved closer as I unlocked the door. My parents were visiting family for dinner, so we’d have the place to ourselves for as long as Nate held out on torturing himself.

“Did anyone seem suspicious about you leaving?” Leo asked as he followed me through the door.

“Claire, for obvious reasons.” I laid my bag on the table and started up the stairs. My nerves were acting up, but I kept talking in hopes it’d distract me. Being alone with Leo near a bed made a thrill race through my body.

“But the rest were distracted with Derek so, I think we’re safe.” I crossed the threshold of my room.

Leo closed the door shut behind him. The space remained dark except for a night light I still hadn’t gotten rid of since grade school. It gave the space a nice pink glow. The room seemed more intimate with the lighting, so I didn’t move to turn on my desk lamp.

“You okay?” His hand found my waist, and he pulled me against his chest. “Thinking about the script still?’

I shook my head. “Not now. I’m thinking about what you’re going to show me I haven’t already seen.”

He chuckled. “You haven’t seen everything I have to offer.”

I gave him a look. “I beg to differ.”

Leo shut me up by pulling me in for a kiss. My stomach jumped as he started backing me until my back felt the wall. While we kissed, his fingers tugged at the sleeves of my cardigan. The fabric slipped off my arms.

“You truly think I have a limited number of ways to get you to get you excited?”

I leaned into his hand when he placed it on my cheek. “So, this is what you wanted to show me? You have my attention.”

“Not just this. But I figure we had a small window for something fun.”

Before I could say anything else, he placed another kiss on my lips. This one was less slow and gentle. He parted my mouth, holding my chin steady so his tongue could slide across mine. I arched my back, eager to feel him against me.

“How would you feel if this went a bit further?” he asked, pulling away for a second.

“I want nothing more,” I whispered back.

“Yeah?” He pressed a hot kiss against my lips, then chin, and neck.

I sighed, needing him more and more with each kiss. “Yeah.”

“How sure?” he teased. His lips continued to trail. Fingers traced my shoulders, outlining my collarbone, arm, and wrist. His mouth reached my breasts, and he teasingly raked his teeth over my hardened nipple. I let out a heavy breath.

“Don’t play games,” I begged with a smile.

“I just want to take my time.” He moved back up so that we were face-to-face. “Make sure you enjoy it.”

“I will,” I promised, brushing my nose against his.

“How good are you at keeping quiet for the night?” he wondered. “In case someone comes home?”

“You don’t remember?” I raised an eyebrow. “Leo, you should know by now.”

He chuckled. “I didn’t think you were trying much the other times.”

“I was trying pretty hard, actually.”

“Well damn.” He gave me a kiss. “Then just try your best, okay? We’ll figure out the rest from there.”
