“I don’t share her with scumbags like you. What happened to the family you had, Nick? We looked for Julia and Avery. And they were nowhere to be found.” Callum continues to creep in through the window. His six foot eight body barely fits through the frame. I have to keep talking to block out his struggle. “I’m sure once we get back Hutch can find them, and we will save them from your touch.”

“Good luck finding them. Their bodies have probably been eaten by the cougars around here by now.” Nyx starts to shake uncontrollably. She knows she is in the hands of a murderer.Fuck, hurry up, Cal.

“You killed your own flesh and blood, and you think I’m going to give up the one woman to save me from myself?” The shock is written on her face. I am pretty much confessing my love for her while she is being held hostage.

Fucking, finally, Callum has his 9mm in his hand, pointed at Nick, while he stalks toward him on silent feet.

“I wil-“

“Release Nyx and I won’t shower her in your brain matter?” Callum says as soon as the barrel of his gun is pressed to his skull.

As soon as he feels the metal against his head, he drops his grip on my Little Fox. She hits the floor with a hard thud and cries out. My heart is about to beat out of my chest. It takes me just a second to lunge for her. I wrap her up in my arms and lift her off the splinter riddled floor.

“Do you have him for now?” I ask Cal.

“Yup, take care of your girl. Then make sure to come get mine. I’ll babysit this asshole, I gotta grab Jack when you're done. He is tied to a tree.” He starts to tie Nick to a chair while I walk Nyx out of the shack.

CHAPTER 51

NYX

Iam nestled in Demitri’s arms, taking in his scent. The first bit of comfort I have had in over a week. As soon as we leave the cabin, I see Alyra waiting with a huge fuzzy looking blanket.

“Will you call Hutch and have him bring the van over?” Dee asks Alyra as he places me on my bare feet and wraps me up in the blanket. “Little Fox, I know you're probably freezing, but Graham will be here momentarily. I need to go get Kyra. Will you be my good girl and sit here until Graham gets here?” I nod my head softly and snuggle further into the softest blanket I have ever felt.

I watch my savior walk into the rundown hunting cabin, and I can feel my fear starting to climb back up my spine. I am shaking like a leaf, and I don’t know if it’s from the cold or fear. Aly hangs up her call and runs over to me, wrapping me up in her arms. I stare back towards where I watch Demitri run back into the house.

“Hey, hey, he will be right back. He has to get Kyra.” I am forcing my tears back, I know I’m panicking over nothing.

I can hear Nick struggling. Still inside. I will not leave this place until they are both, no longer drawing breath. No matter if I need to end them at my own hand or if my men will do it.

“Give her to me.” Callum yells at Demitri from inside. The yelling causes the tears I am trying to hold back to fall endlessly. Rivers of the salty water soaking the blanket wrapped around my chin.

Callum walks out of the shack with a terrified Kyra in his arms. I can’t make out what he is saying, but I can tell he is whispering in her ear. She weakly nods her head in agreement to whatever he asks her. He gently places her on her bare feet on the cold forest floor before wrapping her up in the other blanket Aly has in her hands.

He settles himself on the ground with Kyra in his arms just moments before a black cargo van comes barreling down the driveway. It is hardly in park, before Blue jumps out to scoop me into his arms. Squeezing so damn tight my injuries scream at me.

“Fuck, I am so sorry, Little Witch.” He hesitantly sets me back on the ground. “Let’s get you and Kyra in the back of the van.” I limp over to the van when he walks over to Alyra. “Can you take a look at any of their injuries and patch them up for now? Cal and I need to go help Demitri.”

Alyra agrees, and she helps Kyra up off Cal’s lap. Both of them walk over to where I’m sitting in the cargo opening. The blanket wrapped so damn tightly I feel like I might be cutting off my own circulation. I am my own human burrito.

“Okay, Kyra doesn’t appear to be bleeding anywhere, and I noticed the river running down your leg before we wrapped you up.” Alyra states while gently trying to unburrito me. I slowly release my grasp on the fuzzy comfort.

“He stabbed me yesterday, but I opened the wound again in the shower before y’all came storming in.” My voice is just aweak squeak. The sobs have subsided for now, but the river of tears is still silently flowing down my cheeks. I look over at Kyra who is climbing as far back into the van as she can. Alyra pulls out a water bottle from a cooler and tosses it to her.

“Okay, let’s take a look at that.” She starts to inspect the wound through my leggings. “Nyx, darling, I know it’s out in the open, but let’s get you unwrapped.” As soon as she says that, the air is filled with the screams of men.

“I should be in there.” I say. “I want to bathe in his blood.” I can feel my anger rising. My strength is returning.

“Let me see if I can get the guys to wait for me to bandage you up, then you can join them.” She states before heading for the shack that has been our prison.

I utilize the time she is gone to remove the blanket and climb up into the van for a bit of privacy and lay it over my lap, still allowing the stab wound to be tended to. Alyra comes out of the shack and makes her way back to the van. She opens the med kit that they brought with them. Those boys think of everything.

“They agreed to give me a few minutes to tend to your wounds and allow you to join them.” She cleans the stab wound and bandages me with a couple butterfly sutures for now, before handing me a pair of stretchy black yoga pants and an oversized black hoodie. “Black will hide the blood splatter.” She chuckles, then helps me out of the van.

I steal my spine and gather every ounce of confidence I can to head back into my nightmare. Reminding myself that this is the end, he cannot hurt me again once I am done.

“Hey, Nyxie?” A soft question leaves Kyra as I walk away.
