“So I guess let’s address the elephant in the room.” I just announce, while everyone is about halfway through their food. Both sets of eyes lock onto mine, worry instantly showing on their faces.
“What?” They both question, at the same time. Dee makes eye contact with Hutch like they are having a silent conversation.
“Little Fox, my beautiful, sassy brat. What are you talking about?” The confusion written across Demitri’s face.
“So what does all this mean? Are we dating? Do people just date two guys? Is that something I can do? Is that something you guys want?” I feel like Kyra right now, just rambling outquestions at light speed. My anxiety is taking the reins at the moment.
“Woah, woah, woah, Nyx, slow down, babe.” Demitri’s arm reaches over to rest on my shoulder. “One thing at a time. I cannot speak for Graham, but as far as I go, I am not letting you go unless you make me. This is the first time since my sister passed that I have even been remotely interested in keeping a woman around for more than a fun night. Where once my come was rinsed off her pussy, I called her an uber, and sent her back to the city. I know it sounds horrible, and I will tell you about my sister later, but just know, you are important to me already, and I won’t let you go without a fight. Even if you do want to leave, there probably will be some stalking involved.” He makes a laugh at his last comment. I am curious about his sister, but I will ask him later about that. I turn my head to look at Graham.
“Little Witch, I told you upstairs that your place in my arms is always yours and only yours. We will figure out the throuple dating as we go. I’m sure we are going to need to fight some battles to get people to understand that it’s not weird or strange, but we will stand by each other and fight together.” My cheeks flush at both of their comments and professions of wanting to fight for me. Nick never wanted to fight for me. Any time we fought, he came back just because we lived together and he had nowhere else to go at the time.
“Do you think we need to spill all of our secrets or rough edges?” I am terrified to open those wounds, but they might want to know how fucked up I am off the bat, not years down the road.
“The three of us are all made up of broken pieces and jagged edges and that is okay. We do not need to trauma-dump everything right now. Your broken pieces are beautiful and we love you for them.” Love, did Dee just say the “L” word?
I am so fucked.
CHAPTER 27
NYX
Iended up spending a few days at the guys’ house while we waited for the security stuff to come in that Hutch ordered. I went to work and came home to Demitri cooking dinner. It all felt so domestic and right. Being back in my apartment for a few days now, trying to find a happy medium between spending time with each of the guys alone and together, plus still having me time. I can’t let my book boyfriends think they have been neglected.
Graham invited me officially on our first “date” in a few days, and he refused to tell me anything about it. Usually I hate surprises, but I can’t wait to see what Blue has planned for me. I need to call Kyra and fill her in on all the crazy. We exchanged a few texts while I was with the boys just as a proof of life situation, but I know she’s going to be banging down their door or mine if I don’t see her soon.
I pick up my phone and pull up my favorite contacts. Clicking on the adorable photo we took up at her family cottage and the FaceTime ring fills the apartment.
“Hey girl!” Her smile fills my screen. “I was going to hunt down these boys if they didn’t release you soon! Oh, you're back at your apartment.”
“Ya I came home after work today. The guys were here this afternoon setting up my new security. They wouldn’t let me come home until we had everything in and set up.”
“Swoon” She lays her hand across her forehead like an old-school Hollywood actress. “Not only did you find one HOT man, but two, and they are obsessively protective! I couldn’t get Mike to give a fuck about me even if I was being attacked in front of his face.”
“We need to get you away from him Kye, I don’t like that at all.” I know she can handle herself, but damn don’t I wish I could just deal with him.
“What am I supposed to do? He will come after me if I try to run or leave him.”
“Let me see what the guys can come up with. I’m sure we can protect you, but we will get you outta there. You have my word.” She swipes at the tears running down her cheeks and tries to force a smile on her face.
“So tell me about these gorgeous knights you have at your beck and call.” She changes the topic away from her shitty home life, and I just roll with it.
We talk for an hour about life, the guys and work while we both make dinner, and we plan to meet up in a few days to have a girl’s night. The opening of deer season is in a few days, and Mike will be gone for a week.
Thank God!
I curl up in my reading chair with Midnight, a cup of tea in one hand and my kindle in the other, for a little me-time when I hear my phone buzz from the end table next to me. I pick up my phone and see a message from Graham.
Blue: Hey Little Witch.
Me: Hey Blue!
Blue: Am I allowed to say I miss you in my house yet?
Me: I’ve only been gone since this morning. LOL. But it does feel weird to be alone for the first time since everything happened.
Blue: Do you have the alarm set?
Me: Yea and don’t act like you aren’t sitting in that stalker dungeon you have keeping an eye on everything.
