“Find anything interesting?” The laugh in her voice lets me know she's not pissed.
“Oh, ya, know, just the usual. It was something that kept me occupied enough to not come looking for you when you ignored me for almost two days. Little Witch, can we not do that again?”
“I will try, but sometimes I just need time to think. To wrap my head around whatever is happening. I am not used to having others' thoughts and feelings to take into consideration.” I walk up to her, wrapping her up in my arms, knowing that this is far from the end of talking about us, but I know that shit is about to get busy out on the streets of Detroit. I place a light kiss on the top of her head and release her from my arms.
“Okay, maybe let’s come up with a code word or phrase so we know to give you space.” I want to be supportive, but I do not like her just disappearing like she did.
“We can talk about it later tonight, but I do like that idea.” She gives us both a smile.
“Alright, guys, let's grab some dinner after the game. We can sit down and discuss everything,” Demitri says. Leaning over, he whispers something in her ear that I don’t make out, but I go over to take my place on the opposite side of the roof to watch all the fans flocking in.
I’m watching the fans ooze out of the stadium. The chants and cheers follow them all down the street. The Tigers just won their first home playoff game since 2014! I stay diligent watching the fans head back to their cars. Just because the game is over doesn’t mean the threats just disappear.
“Y’all said something about dinner?” My girl asks while she stays peering over the street. She looks tired after a long day in the sun, but still she keeps watch on the street below.
“Ya, do you want to grab some food with us, Little Witch? We can discuss everything?” Trying to sound confident, but I am honestly scared she will turn us down.
“I am starved!” She laughs, “I didn’t bring a damn cooler like you guys.”
“Nyx, all you had to do was ask. We brought extra for you. You can’t be on top of the game if you're hungry or dehydrated.” Dee scolds her from his side of the building. Grabbing a cold bottle of water out of the cooler, and gently tosses it over to her.
“Well, I am sorry, Daddy. I didn’t know it was for all of us.”Holy fuck, did she just call Demitri daddy? And why is that so damn hot?
“Oh. Little Fox, you are going to open a can of worms you're not ready for yet.” His voice darkens.
“Ya, you think so?” All that sass I’ve been missing is back. I groan and both sets of eyes look over at me.
“What?” I brush off their looks and go to do anything else that isn’t this.
“Do you like her talking back to me, Graham?” Dee’s eyes are hooded with lust before he shakes his head to clear his thoughts.
“Umm, of course I do. I’ve been missing this sass all fucking day. And it’s not being directed at me, so I just get to watch instead of coming up with comebacks. Watching you two verbally spar is definitely going to be a new fun game I can spectate. I will need to keep a stock of popcorn for such events.” They both just stare at me and laugh at the exact same time.
We stayed up on the roof until the streets were mostly cleared. A few random people seem to still be lingering around the stadium, but they don’t appear to be a threat. Nyx got a call from Cap telling her we are good to head out. We packed up our setup. All of it will stay in Dee’s truck for tomorrow, but we don’t want to leave any of it up here.
Demitri uses a rope to lower everything to the ground before he climbs down the ladder to get off the roof back to street level. “Okay, Nyx, head down. Dee will catch you if you fall.” Her glare levels on me. “Little Witch, do not think that is me saying you can’t climb down on your own. I just don’t want you to fall. Accidents can happen, you know.”
Her face softens again, realizing we don’t want to control her or think she’s incapable, but we just want her safe. She sends her backpack down to Demitri on the pulley system we have rigged up before starting to climb down the ladder. Once she reachesDemitri’s grasp, he grabs her hips to lower her the rest of the way to the ground, slowly dragging her body down his own.
“Thank you.” She says to Dee once she is on the ground.
“Don’t let me fall, Demitri!” I call down to the two of them on the ground. Just messing around and he rolls his eyes while he grabs his pack and starts heading toward where we parked the truck.
Now on the ground, I ask, “So, do you want to ride with us?” I can see her thinking about it.
“Are you going to bring me back to my car? You can’t just kidnap me.”
I lean in close to her ear, my lips brushing the shell as I say, “Oh Little Witch, when I finally tie you up, you will want to be there. Trust me.” I pull away, letting my words settle in as I grab my pack and go to rest my hand on her lower back.
I can visibly see her brain misfiring, the sheer look of shock and awe written all over that beautiful face. Once my words fully hit their mark, her cheeks turn a bright pink, and I can see the blush creep down her neck and go below her bulletproof vest. What I would give to follow that blush with my tongue right now, but we are in the middle of downtown and there are just too many people to strip her bare.
“Mmmmm, that blush is something I will chase with my tongue one of these days.” I nuzzle into her neck, causing her to shiver.
“We...um…should catch up with Demitri. I assume you guys rode together.” She is trying to gather her own thoughts and change the topic.
“Dee will be there when we get there. I’m having fun touching you.” I may only have my hand resting on her back now, since my other hand is full of my shit, but that little ounce of contact has my skin buzzing.
“Blue, you cannot say those things to me while we are out on the street like this.” God, I love when she calls me Blue. I don’t know if she even knows she does it half the time.
