“I won’t. I promise,” Amill assured me as the timer in the room sounded off.

“You ladies are all done.” My masseuse announced, releasing the grip he had on my lower back.

“I hope you have an amazing time at homecoming tonight,” Amill’s masseuse bubbled.

“Thank you.”

We took a minute to exit the massage room and head to the changing rooms to put our clothes back on. I indulged in a final glass of wine while putting my clothes on. We already got facials and pedicures before the massage, so I was feeling refreshed.

Wayne already had the truck pulled up to the entrance of the Marriott, ready to take us back to Yaseer’s house. While on the way, the makeup artists I booked for the day confirmed that she would be headed our way in thirty minutes. We had a ten minute drive and were running behind schedule.

“The makeup artist is going to be on time, she just texted me. As soon as we get there you have to get into the shower so you can be ready to get your makeup done.”

“Okay. While I shower and stuff, can you make sure you go work your magic on my dad?” she urged.

I chuckled. “Your dad isn’t home yet, but I’ll talk to him as soon as he gets there. He’s still at the office, but he said we can send Wayne to grab him as soon as we get back to the house.” I informed her after reading his text message.

“That’s cool. I’d prefer your assistance anyways,” Amill announced. “My dad isn’t nearly as much fun as you are. I’m happy he found you.”

“I’m happy he found me too,” I bubbled.

We pulled into the driveway a few minutes later and sat idly waiting for the iron gates to grant us entry. When we were finally in the driveway, Wayne graciously opened the door for us. I promise I could get used to this. Sauntering up to the house, Amill keyed in her code and the door beeped twice before she opened it.

“I’m getting in the shower,” she announced, taking off to the bedroom.

I went into the living room and placed my Prada purse on the coffee table before relaxing on the plush sofas. Every time I sat on them, I never wanted to get up. They felt like you were wrapped in a hug from a cloud. Pairing the sofas with the view of the open water, this was my second favorite spot in the house. My first was Yaseer’s bedroom where he fucked me while overlooking the water.

A call from the makeup artists quickly pulled me away from the place of comfort I’d fallen into.

“Hello.”

“Hey, I’m at the address but the gate is closed,”an angelic voice greeted me.

“Okay, give me one second.”

I rushed upstairs and knocked on Amill’s door. “Can you open the gate? The makeup artist is here.”

“I’m opening it now. As much as you are here, Dad needs to give you access,” she shouted back.

I went back downstairs and opened the door to greet the makeup artist. “Hi, I’m Vella. It’s nice to meet you,” she greeted me with a smile.

“It’s nice to meet you too. Jameera referred me to you. She said you do her makeup for everything, and you work wonders on brown skinned girls.”

“I do,” she celebrated.

“Perfect. We want something along the lines of your Barbie glam looks you do. They will match her dress perfectly. You can set up in the dining room,” I instructed, leading her to the area.

“I got you,” she nodded.

Amill descended the stairs with a robe on a few minutes later. The smell of whatever she used to lotion her body preceded her, and it smelled amazing.

“Hey beautiful. My name is Vella and I’m going to be bringing all of your beautiful features to life today.”

Amill excitedly claimed her seat and I left them alone to get started. I used the bathroom and got into the shower because I wasn’t leaving tonight. My body was exhausted after getting up this morning and accompanying Amill to all of her appointments before we went to the spa. We were out since eight o’clock this morning. When I got out of the shower, I dressed in a pajama set and slid a pair of slippers on my feet before calling Lil Q and Quincy’s phones, which went straight to voicemail. A text from Quincy immediately came through in the group chat seconds later.

Quincy: You good ma? We out watching the football game. It’s loud in here.

Me: I’m good. I just wanted to check in. I haven’t heard from y’all all day.
