‘You mean to tell me you haven’t touched a boat in almost twenty years?’Cini asked, pushing herself up so she could look at me incredulously.‘What if you forgot how to sail? We could have crashed.’

‘Then I guess we would have been having sex in life jackets on the ocean,’I teased.‘It would have been like if the Titanic was a porno.’

I craned my neck in order to give her a kiss but Cini groaned and pushed my head playfully away.‘Way to ruin the moment, Nico.’

I grinned as my cock slid free and began to get hard again.‘Then let me steer us back into it, love.’

Rolling so that she was under me, I stared down into her eyes, feeling more satisfied than I ever had before.‘We still have a couple of hours before we need to be at the dock and I want to be in charge this time.’

Eighteen

The headlights of the SUV Nico had taken this morning illuminated the large living room windows of the beach house as he pulled into the driveway. He and Cini had been gone all day and I’d spent the day covering for them with Amante’s body guards.

I wasn’t sure if Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum believed my story that Cini was spending the day in bed because she didn’t feel well, but I also wasn’t sure if they really cared.

In the three days since we had arrived at the beach house they had slowly started to grow lax. Even now I could hear the sounds of a baseball game on the TV in the room they shared.

They were useless for protection, but at least they were too disinterested in what we were doing to report our every move to Amante.

“They back?” Elio asked as he and Dante entered the living room.

“Seems like it,” I said, not looking up at him as I continued to work on my computer. Out of the four of us, I was the one who worked on managing our stocks and investments so that we didn’t accidentally squander Alesso’s last gift to us. That meant that, even on vacation, I was still making phone calls to our people at various investment firms in order to keep the money growing.

“I’m going to kick his ass once they get in here,” Elio growled, pacing in front of the window like a lion on the prowl.

I just shook my head as I started typing out an email to my secretary who worked remotely in California. It was early enough for him that I knew he would be just about to sign off for the day and I could squeeze this in before he left for the weekend. “No you won’t.”

“He should know better than to leave without permission. What if Cini had a seizure? Or what if those idiots in the other room reported their unsanctioned outing to Amante and he made us go back early?”

Ever since he and Cini had bonded on the night of the wedding the alpha had turned into a real worrywart.

Which was precisely why I wouldn’t be touching a bond with Luscinia with a ten-foot pole.

Weird feelings about going after Alesso’s little sister afterwhateverwe had been aside, one of us idiots needed to keep a clear head if we were going to survive this and if Elio was this far gone I didn’t want to think about what Dante and Nico would be like when they were all twitterpated by the bonds.

“It wasn’t unsanctioned,” Dante’s deep voice cut through Elio’s ranting, surprising me as the broad-shouldered alpha threw himself onto the loveseat and it creaked under his weight. “The kid asked me yesterday and I told him he could.”

“Why the hell wouldn’t you talk to us about it?” Elio asked, rounding on Dante with a glare.

Dante’s brows lifted as he gestured to Elio’s currently chaotic state. “You’re acting more like an overprotective grandmother than one of her alpha mates, El. Besides, Nic wouldn’t have a chance to truly court her with you hovering around. The kid needed a chance.”

Elio opened his mouth to argue, but Dante cut him off. “He took her sailing, Elio.”

That shut the other alpha right up.

We all knew what it meant for Nico to get on a boat again.

That seemed to be enough to cool Elio down because when the headlights turned off outside and Cini and Nico walked through the front door hand-in-hand, Elio didn’t comment.

Their scents were intermingled enough that it was clear to everyone in the room what they had been up to on the boat.

Want that, the tiny voice of my inner-alpha whispered pitifully in the back of my mind.

I ignored it.

‘Did you have fun?’Dante questioned, signing with his finger before he shut the door behind them and held a hand out to her.

Cini nodded with a yawn and took it, letting him lead her back into the back of the house where the primary bedroom was.
