Chapter Eighteen

Bishop didn’t knowhow after such a short amount of time, he could miss the weight and pressure of having Winter behind him on his bike.He found himself impatient to get to the 60, where they would get off the Interstate and he could get her back from Wrench.

He wondered for a moment what the old man was telling her.Was he filling her head with stories about him or had they found something else to talk about?

Soon enough they pulled off the 303 and onto the 60.They followed Styx up a block then turned at the light and pulled into a large pull-off area and waited until everyone followed.Bishop didn’t dismount, sat and waited.A couple of minutes later, Winter approached, the helmet he’d given her this morning in one hand.

He’d asked if she preferred a helmet style and then he’d gotten her one.Once he put his property patch on her back, he’d ask what she wanted on the helmet and have either Viper or Warlock paint it for her.

“Ready to ride, Spitfire?”he asked as she approached.

“Sure am.”She slid the helmet on and fastened the strap before climbing on.

“Did Wrench talk your ear off?”he asked, as she shifted and got comfortable.

“Not too much, though when he talks he tends to forget to watch the road. That was a little scary. It’s all good now, though.”She wrapped her arms around his waist.Bishop nodded to Styx and one by one, the bikes pulled out again, getting back on the highway.

Almost three hourslater they pulled into the parking lot in front of a casino that looked like it was pretty much in the middle of the Strip, as it was, in Laughlin.Bishop waited as Winter climbed off, then dismounted himself. He glanced around and found his brothers doing the same.

Styx let out a loud, piercing whistle, drawing everyone’s attention.

“All right, listen up.”He stood near the front of the group, next to Bulldog. He waited a moment so he had everyone’s attention.“We’ve got rooms reserved here.”He nodded toward the casino in front of them. There’s one for each brother, just tell them you’re with the Sons of Sin.I recommend doing that sooner rather than later.Tomorrow, we meet up here, nine a.m.I know it’s early but we’ve got almost double the time on the road tomorrow with what I have planned.”

“What’s that?”someone called from the back of the group, Bishop couldn’t see who.

“That’s for me to know and you to find out, Skate.”

A round of laughter went through the group, until Bulldog shouted, getting everyone’s attention again.

“Listen up.You’re free to do whatever you like tonight, wander around, gamble, hit a show, drink until you pass out.But stay out of trouble. The last thing we need is trouble with the law.If we have to go hunting you in the morning, you’ll be on my shit list and you’ll be paying for it a long time.Got me?”Bulldog scanned the group, looking for complaints or questions. There were neither.“If Wrench has your bag, get it now so he can have a little fun while we’re here, and go enjoy yourselves!”

“Let’s grab your bag and get our room.”

“What about your things?Don’t you have a bag?”Winter asked.
