She smirked.“I work from home.On the list of things I sent Viper to get for me was my laptop. With it, I can work anywhere.”She watched as if challenging him to say something.

“That’s good.At least that way I won’t have to send security with you.”

She stared at him, mouth agape for several seconds before she shoved him and sat up.“I think I’ve had enough of this.I’m staying in here with you?”She looked around as if seeing the room for the first time, not that she’d seen much as they came in, they’d been so lost in each other.

“Yep.”

She twisted around and looked at the bed they lay on.The comforter was mussed, but it hadn’t been particularly smooth to begin with. He’d pulled up the blankets and made it look mostly neat but he hadn’t bothered to make it look just right after his shower this morning.

“Do you bring mamas up here?”She looked at the bed with suspicion.

“We call them club girls, and no.Have I used them?Sure, but not in a while. And never here.I didn’t want anyone getting the idea they were welcome in my room, in my bed, or that they could come and go at will.”

“But you want me in here? You want me in your room, in your bed, and allowed to come and go at will?”

“Most of that. You don’t get to come and go at will.”

Winter frowned.

“I’m not saying you’re a prisoner here.I’d never do that, but you do need someone with you if you leave the property.Also...”He gripped her chin gently and turned her to look at him.“If anyone touches you, they’ll deal with me.You’re mine, Spitfire, and I don’t share.”

She narrowed her eyes at him but didn’t say anything as she stood and looked around. He assumed she was looking for her clothes.Once she was dressed and he’d found and pulled on his shirt, she turned to face him and put her hands on her hips.

“I think it’s time for the tour now.”

“Sure, let’s go.”

She wasn’t happy with him, that much was obvious. The question was, what part had pissed her off and how long would it take him to get back in her good graces?

Chapter Eleven

Winter clenched herteeth as Bishop led her through the converted warehouse and showed her were everything was.She wanted to hit him, to tell him she wasn’t going to be told what to do by anyone, but she needed them right now, so she would do her best to keep from pissing anyone off.As soon as it was safe, she’d pack what she couldn’t live without and get the hell out of Dodge. She was no one’s little woman and she wouldn’t be patted on the head and told not to worry about anything.

By the time Bishop had finished showing her around the clubhouse, Viper had returned. He carried two bags, both she recognized as coming from her closet.

“Hey, Winter,” he said when he spotted her, a grin spreading across his face.“I’ll leave these outside your door.I’ve got a few other things to go with them, then I’ll unload the rest.I’ll bring the truck back and get you the keys as soon as that’s done.Which room did they put you in?”
