“Just like that?” I asked him, frowning.
“I know what you were about to say, Jordan. I understand that it was your job. I also appreciate you sticking with me despite me being a giant asshole. I would like to thank you for that.”
“Oh,” I muttered. “So, we’re fine?”
“In my opinion, we’re more than fine,” Adam replied. “You would call what happened between us just fine?”
I flicked his forehead. “Stop thinking about sex for one goddamn minute. I need to know.”
Adam chuckled. “What do you need to know?”
“Now what?”
“Now? I will like you. I will love you. I will fuck you,” he stated. “Yeah, that’s what I’m going to do.”
My heart was all over the place, but I cautioned it to calm down.
“Does that mean you will stay here with me?”
“Yes.”
“You will move in with me.”
“Affirmative. Unless you want to move to my place. That’s fine too.”
“And you will be my boyfriend?”
“I will be your boyfriend.”
I breathed a sigh of relief. “Oh. Um… okay.”
Adam cocked his eyebrow. “Just okay? You would call what happened between us just okay?”
Finally, I allowed myself to laugh.
“Fucking sex fiend,” I murmured, when his words caught up with me. “Hold up! Did you say, love?”
Adam gazed into the distance thoughtfully. “Did I? I can’t remember.”
“Adam, stop fucking with me,” I growled. “Did you or did you not say it?”
When he flipped me onto my back, I yelped in surprise.
“Yes, I said it,” Adam replied, grinning.
“Say it again.”
“You say it first.”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
He either said it, or I was losing my mind.
“Where’s my phone?” I mumbled, looking around. “I need to call Luz. He will never believe that you said it. Can I put you on speakerphone?”
When Adam stopped my rambling with a kiss, I let out a happy sigh. It felt good to be on the receiving end of the kiss, as opposed to the begging-for-it end.
