“ I don’t think so.I’m going to keep you so busy that you’re not going to miss work at all.I have a list of things that need to be done around the house, too, that we’ve been putting off.”He asked her what sort of things.“ The rooms all need to be painted, and while I know we’re going to end up hiring someone to do that, the stuff will need to be taken off the walls to be ready for them.I want to redo the kitchen too.It’s really out of date since we moved in.Not a full renovation, mind you, but we do need to bring it up to this century.”

It made him sad at how much he’d missed about his children growing up.Having his head stuck in files all the time had meant that he’d given up too much for the job when he could have been with his family.He was going to change that as soon as today, and he wasn’t going to go back to being the one who did the work so hard on cases.He’d do it if necessary, but it wasn’t going to be his entire life anymore.
Tomorrow was going to be the beginning of a new life, and he was going to experience every minute of it while it lasted.His kids would just have to get used to him being around all the time, and he was sure that they’d have as much fun as he was.
