“I know what that’s usedfor.”

Tilting his head, Alexander pondered the rest of the items all arranged on neat pegs and shelves. He selected two strips of long silk and hemp rope with metal eyelets at each end, along with two black leather cuffs. “Remember your safe word, Elizabeth,” he said as he fastened the first cuff around herwrist.

Her heartbeat pounded in her ears. The padded leather didn’t hurt, but Alexander tested the cuff by tugging on a metal ring attached to the side, and Elizabeth tried to stifle her shudder. As he secured her other wrist, sliding the diamond bracelet up so it wouldn’t get caught, she sucked her lip beneath herteeth.

“These will be easier than the rope,chérie. Are you comfortable?” Alexander cupped her cheek and brushed a thumb over her lip. “If you need a moment, sayyellow.”

“I’m…okay,” she managed. “Just…nervous.”

Draping the long strips of silk over his shoulder, he returned to the cabinet. Two wide pieces of silk with leather buckles confused her. “Wh-what arethose?”

“You are an active one, my sweet sub. Always wriggling. With what I’ve planned for you—for us—you could very easily hurt me if you move too quickly.” Alexander dropped to one knee and fastened the silk around her right thigh. Thin strips of soft rubber on the inside of the wrap held it in place a few inches above her knee. “I’m going to bind you well tonight, Elizabeth. But I can release you in a few seconds if youneed.”

He finished his preparation with padded ankle cuffs, then stepped back to admire her. “Stunning.”

When Alexander hefted the flogger he’d used on her the last time, sheshivered.

“Would you like to know what this feels like on your bareskin?”

“Yes,” shewhispered.

He tossed the flogger on the bed, where it thudded softly. “There is only one more item in here that I want to use on you tonight, but I would like to keep it a secret for now. Will you trustme?”

“I—” Elizabeth met his gaze, finding a mix of compassion, concern, and lust churning in his eyes. “Yes.”

“Then turn around and wait for my nextcommand.”

A strange sound, half rustling, half clinking, reached her ears, but she resisted the temptation to glance back over hershoulder.

Alexander pressed his lips to her neck, then kissed up towards her ear. “Remember, Elizabeth.Redstops everything. If you need me to slow down, back off a bit, sayyellow. We won’t abandon our play, butyellowwill give you the time you need to decide if you need to safeword or whether we can continue. Do youunderstand?”

His velvet lips made it hard to think, but she forced herself to focus on his voice. “Yes. Red stops everything. Yellow slows thingsdown.”

“Brilliant. Now come withme.”
