Low. Calm. His voice low and firm, reverberating across the stunned silence like thunder rolling over frozen earth.
No one moved.
“I said—leave.”
That did it.
Chairs scraped. Men gathered coats. Phones disappeared. No one spoke. Even the executive Haneul had slapped moved without a word, cupping his cheek like it had been branded.
Junseo fled first.
Moments later, the suite was empty.
All but two.
Haneul still straddled the glass table, chest heaving. Wild-eyed. Bleeding. Beautiful.
Seungho stepped forward. Slow. Steady. He didn’t reach for Haneul. He just extended one hand. Open and unmoving.
“You,” Seungho said—voice rough, reverent, made of mountain and fire. “Come down.”
Haneul blinked. Confused. Raw.
It was over.
He was still shaking. His lip bled. His braid was a mess. But something in that voice—his voice—settled the chaos.
And slowly… He stood.
Bare feet stepping across a ruined table.
Toward him.
Toward flame.
Toward something he didn’t have words for yet.
Only ache and recognition, and the breathless hush of snow before it falls.

Chapter 6–Leave the Mooncake, Take the Mask
The suite was empty. Just them now. Glitter-drenched silence clung to the air like the scent of perfume and blood.
Seungho’s voice came low, steady—too steady.
“I can drive you ho—”
“Do I look like I need a sugar chauffeur?”
Haneul cut in, slicing the air like a flicked blade. He didn’t look at him at first, just reached down to pluck his boots from the floor with one hand and stuff a piece of his ruined mesh top into the other. His braid was half-undone, colored tokens of various shapes and sizes slipping out, lips bitten red, cheeks flushed with leftover rage. He looked wild, holy, untouchable.
Then he turned.
That stare—cut glass and comet fire—scanned Seungho from head to toe with zero apology. The angle of it made the difference clear: Haneul, barely chin-high to him, looking upward without the slightest hint of deference. Seungho’s shadow fell over him like a wall; Haneul’s defiance cut straight through it.
He stopped at the chest.
