Damian just watched him fall asleep, those small hands still holding his treasures, even when his head had rolled to the side. Damian gently reached over and pushed his head back, keeping his hand against his face, his hair, so his head wouldn’t move again. His eyes meeting Gabe’s in the mirror.
Back at the hotel, Armando just walked around, discovering that vast space, a bit in awe at that view, that vast sky. Almost like birds. Maybe he could fly. He put his palm on the window, daring to look down, his heart beating hard.
Letting them feed him, Cassie take him to a bathtub which seemed like a pool. He almost didn’t go in, a bit scared of all that foam, but then she blew on a small amount in her palm, and it flew all over the room, like snow. It made him laugh, and she helped him in, washing that scrawny body, his hair. Putting those grey pajamas on him, faded with age. They were a bit small, his legs sticking out, but she helped him brush his teeth and held his hand to bring him to the extra bedroom in the suite. A large bed, all crisp grey and white linen in that artificially decorated room, and he froze.
“What’s wrong?” He just looked at her, and his lips wobbled. Cassie hugged him. “Ok… you want to sleep with me?” He wouldn’t let go, so she picked him up and brought him to her room, waving at Damian and Gabe on the way there. “Armando is sleeping with me. He’s a bit scared.”
Damian looked up, puzzled. “Scared? Of what?” Utterly unable to understand as his fear had been wiped out in that jungle.
Cassie frowned, rolling her eyes at him. “Just… scared. This is a new place, ok, Dad?”
Gabe grabbed his arm. “Let him be.” Smiling when those steel eyes went to him. “He’s a kid. Not a jungle warrior like you.”
Damian’s eyes flashed. “Alright… you win. Have nice dreams.” He waved, but Armando didn’t look up, his face buried in Cassie’s neck. They watched her leave, and Damian sighed a curse. “Fuck… this is going to be grand… he hates me already.”
“Since when? He doesn’t know us. Leave him time.”
Damian toyed with the watch on his wrist. “And what if he doesn’t get to like us? What then?” He opened the clasp and let the watch plummet to the table. His eyes went to Gabe, filled with misery, his stomach in a knot as that icy rush glided down his spine. “We… we should bring him back… maybe… he was happy there.”
“You don’t know that.” Sensing that moment of panic when something new entered your life, a long commitment, and, unsure, the human mind would start reverting back to the old days. But there was no way back, not for him, his kind heart already in a puddle the moment he had seen that small boy on that shabby rug. He took Damian’s hand. “Hey… there’s no going back. He’s your son. He needs you. More than that abuela in that dark house.”
Damian clung to his hazel eyes. “Fuck… Fuck you, and your soft, marshmallow heart.”
Gabe pulled him down on the sofa. “Fuck? Let’s fuck. Ok.”
Damian grinned. “That’s not what I said. I said ‘Fuck you…’”
Gabe kissed his words away. “That’s right. Fuck me.”
“You… insatiable little fuck…”
“That’s me…”
Kissing him, wide, wanting Damian so much, his weight on him driving him crazy at a ripple rushed from his stomach to his cock. Pushing against Damian, grinding against his thigh.
Damian grabbed his jaw. “Horny little fuck.”
“Yeah…”
Damian stood and pulled him up. “To bed.”
“Not here?” A twinge of disappointment in his voice, so Damian pulled him close.
“No… because my son and daughter are next door. You want this new life? It means you won’t get fucked wherever you damn want. Ready for this?” A genuine question.
Gabe pushed closer. “Yeah… so ready…”
Damian’s lips twisted. “Insolent.”
“What are you going to do about it?”
Damian pushed him into the bedroom, his hand straying on Gabe’s ass. “I have ideas…”
Gabe’s smiling eyes as he looked back at him. “Really? What…” He yelped when the first blow landed on his ass.
Damian covered his mouth, hard, holding him tight. “Sshhh… shut the fuck up.”
Gabe breathed against his skin. He pushed his tongue out and licked Damian’s palm, that salty taste he knew so well sending a rush of warmth down his body.
