Damian’s heart raced, and he almost refused, that mad fright in him being so close to Gabe, but another splitting crack made Gabe jolt, and Damian got up and walked to him. Wiping the water out of his eyes. “How… how do you want to sleep?”
Gabe looked up at him, his lips trembling. Cold, maybe something else. “Uh… you could just lie next to me. That would already be great.”
Damian lay down, just their sides touching, their eyes closed, their arms crossed on their chest. Rain drops plummeting down on them softly, but there was warmth there, as their shoulders and sides touched, their elbows, a promise of something more. Gabe thought of a small cheat, hoping, so he rolled on his side, waiting, pretending to sleep. Hearing Damian sigh, as he had lost that warmth.Come on…Hoping that he would not be wrong when he felt Damian roll against him, spoon him as his left arm went around his waist. Barely a touch, his hand far, still, but Gabe smiled, pushing back against that warmth covering his back. Feeling him stiffen, but then he gave in, his breath licking Gabe’s neck as it steadied, their warmth enveloping them. A sense of safety he’d rarely felt, even if that arm was barely there over his waist, maybe just to fit closer, but it was there, and he grabbed his hand and pulled it to his chest. Feeling him stir, pull him closer, maybe out of reflex, that movement ingrained in that exhausted sleep. But it was everything at that moment to Gabe, being wedged against his abs, melting in his embrace, his breath scorching his skin.
Damian woke on his back with an unknown weight on his stomach, his eyes opening wide on Gabe’s peaceful face, his head on his abs, his hand on his chest. What the fuck…Sun streaming in, some rogue drops still seeping through the soaked leaves. He didn’t move though, watching Gabe, his mind on their shared night, Gabe’s warm skin on his skin, his lips parted, a thin stream of drool seeping from it. He was so close to his waist, Damian shifted a bit, a mild alarm in him that his body was responding to Gabe’s presence, a long forgotten feeling in his flesh which had started stirring. What! Jesus… I need to get up and get out of here…He pushed at Gabe’s head gently, pulling his body out, laying Gabe’s head on the bedding, and got up, almost rushing outside, down the ladder into the jungle a bit. Leaning against a tree, thinking he had been hallucinating, but that semi-hard flesh was there.
He jolted at Gabe’s voice. “Damian?”
Far… Thank God.He raised his voice. “Right here! I’m taking a piss.”Trying to…closing his eyes to focus on letting it stream through that semi-rigid flesh.Fuck this…Chuckling mildly. He could not remember when he had had a morning wood last, and it equally thrilled and terrified him, because this was the last thing he needed here, to have a sex drive…
He finished and walked back, thankful that his cock had calmed down…For now…Facing Gabe’s smile. He was crouching near the fireplace, lighting it again.
“Better?”
“Yeah…”
“Took you a while.”
“Well, at my age, it’s more difficult.”
“Prostate issues?”
“What? No… maybe…” Throwing that in, hoping Gabe would stop probing.
“At least, we were not too cold at night…”
“Yeah…”
“It makes sense, you know, in survival situations, to sleep huddled together. Preserves body heat.”
“Does it just? Are you suggesting we should repeat it?”
“It bothered you?”
“You’re a messy sleeper.”
Gabe blushed. “Yes, I know…”
Damian smiled. “We can sleep together when it’s cold, but don’t make it into a habit, ok?”
“Alright.” Thrilled, stealing a glance at his worn face. Something lingering there, a mild worry.
“Let’s gather some bags and set off to discover this shithole. We might as well know what we are dealing with.”
“Ok. There’s a pile of clothes there… we need to ditch our shirts…” His eyes on Damian’s business shirt hanging on him, the edges torn, threaded.
“Sure thing. Your pants are still good?”
“Yep…” Though they had both cut them at the knees, they still held, those dark business and uniform pants.
Damian dug into the pile, pulling a face. “Ugh… they stink a bit… never mind…” Steeling himself not to lose it at the sight of those worn clothes, but he scooped a couple of T-shirts out. “These? Try some on.”
Gabe pulled a turquoise blue T-shirt on. It was tight, ending at his navel, but better than nothing. Smiling lightly at the faded smiley adorning the front. His eyes going wide at Damian’s faded pink T-shirt, a light-blue pony prancing on the front.
Damian shot him a warning look. “Don’t even start. This is the only one that fits…” And even that was straining on his broad back and strong shoulders. It made Gabe flush with warmth, and he had to look away, busying himself with filling two bottles with water. Turning to Damian when he felt his hand on his shoulder.
“Ready? Here, just make a bandana out of your shirt, that’s all they are good for. We might need to walk in the sun for a while.”
