Marius waved him over, his voice heavy with wine. “Come here...”

Kyle edged closer to the bed, his heart beating in his throat, and he stopped, his thighs against the mattress, and waited.

Marius watched the young man, vaguely irritated at him, not even knowing why. Maybe because he had no idea what to do with him after this morning. He’s just a slave, come on, don’t overthink it. But guilt ate at him, his own behavior seeming monstrous looking back, and he extended his hand to Kyle, his voice mild. “Care to join me?”

Kyle wordlessly climbed on the bed and lay down next to him on his side, his breathing shallow, watching Marius carefully.

Marius turned to him, facing him, his eyes dark in the night. “Are you afraid of me, Kyle?”

Kyle’s heart raced at the question. How to answer this?He was afraid, but that could anger him... yet, lying would bring punishment, or so he thought, and he let out a shaky breath. “Yes, dominus.”

Marius waited a bit, pondering his words. “Why?”

Kyle couldn’t look at him any longer and lowered his eyes. “Because you are unpredictable, dominus.”

Marius’ eyes widened.Unpredictable? He had never thought of this and looked at the young slave, his eyes downcast, trembling. “Unpredictable? How?”

Kyle chewed his lower lip but sighed, giving up, not caring anymore if he got punished for answering his questions. “I never know what to expect from you, dominus. One moment you are kind and gentle and the next...” He couldn’t continue, his mind drifting back to the morning.

Marius looked at him, grim. “I’ve been more on the battlefield than dealing with a household full of people who need constant directions.”

He was not even sure why he was explaining this, and Kyle looked at him. “If I may... maybe just a simple set of rules? Behaviors linked to punishment.”

Marius scoffed. “Punishment? I don’t intent to...”, but again, his mind went to what he’d done, and he silenced. It had not been punishment, though...His voice hardened. “What I did this morning was not punishment.”

Kyle sighed. “I know, dominus...”

“But?”

Kyle licked his lips. “I am in no position to tell you anything, dominus. What you do is always right.”

Marius’ eyes blazed, angry at his meekness. “Just tell me what you’re thinking!”

Kyle looked at him. “You could have been a bit gentler, dominus.”

He didn’t reply because he knew Kyle was right, yet, that ritual was supposed to convey dominance so... His lips curled into a mocking smile. “Don’t tell me you’re not used to being treated this way by Lucius.” Kyle stayed silent and Marius felt a wicked feeling inside of him. “Tell me how he used to treat you.” He watched Kyle blanch in the dim light and his lips curled into a small smile. “So?”

The slave’s voice was soft. “What do you want to know, dominus?”

“Just tell me what he did to you.”And I might not feel like shit about myself.

Kyle licked his lips. “The daily routine was the following: he woke up and sometimes wanted to have sex or I sucked him off, depending on his mood. Then I dressed him, and he went for breakfast and his daily tasks. After lunch, he came back for a nap and maybe sex too... went on his business later and back after dinner for his bath and bedtime.”

Marius frowned. “And you? What did you do all day?”

“I was chained to the bed, dominus.”

He said it so matter of fact that Marius choked. “What?”

“I was chained to the bed, dominus.”

Marius had a hard time processing this. “So… When did you eat? Attend to your needs?”

“When he was in the room. Feeding was when he allowed it or fed me himself. Usually twice a week, dominus.” Marius’ lips parted and Kyle continued. “I had been trained to be a sex slave, so this is what I was used for. By Master Lucius or his guests. Or both.”

Marius looked at him, grim. “And punishment?”

Kyle winced slightly. “Anything from flogging to whips. Master liked to use a riding crop in the bedroom.” The entire conversation had made him uneasy and unpleasant memories bubbled to the surface, making him shut his eyes, before he realized that this was probably not allowed, so he forced them open again, waiting for Marius to continue.
