They collapsed on the side, panting, out of breath, Kyle on the verge of tears, his breath hitching.

Marius stroked his hair. “Shhh... I’m here... I’m sorry, I shouldn’t' have left you alone for so long...”

Kyle kissed his hand, and they snuggled, the night softly darkening around them.

Marius turned on his back after a while, his arms behind his head and Kyle lay on his shoulder, looking up at his grim face, waiting.

He spoke after a while, his voice soft, tainted with anger and disappointment. “She’s not what I thought she would be... even bedding her is a nightmare...” Kyle looked at him and he smiled. “Yes, would you believe this? She could be a gorgeous woman, but her temper... she’s getting on my nerves.” Kyle stayed silent. He had nothing to say, but dread crept into him, especially after that conversation during dinner.

Marius looked at him. “You’re awfully silent.”

“You’re gone in a week...”

Marius sighed. “Yes, I know... I’ll make sure she knows what she has to do... but I can’t guarantee she won’t hurt you...” His words turned to ash in his mouth and Kyle took pity on him, seeing his pained face.

He smiled thinly, trying to lighten his mood. “She can’t be worse than Lucius.”

“Let’s hope so...” Marius hugged him tight. “I’m staying with you until I leave... stay in this room and wait for me... even if I have to fuck her out of duty, I’ll come to you.”

Kyle kissed him, swallowing his tears

ThedreadeddayofMarius’ departure arrived. He stood in the rising sun’s feeble rays, facing the terrace, and Rome, whilst Kyle buckled his armor, pulling the leather straps tight, his face like ash. They had made love almost all night, blending pleasure into pain, his body marred by Marius’ bites. They throbbed with a dull ache, but he didn’t mind, clutching on the painful reminders of his lover. He buckled the last strap and went to fling the red cape over his shoulders.

He was ready, and Kyle handed him his helmet, crested with horsehair. Marius looked at him and pulled him on his breastplate, the cold metal biting into his skin. They kissed passionately, drowning in sorrow, and Marius had to break it off, close to losing it.

He buckled on his helmet and his blue eyes shone. “I’ll be back soon...”

Kyle just nodded, his eyes welling up.

Marius steeled himself and they went down to the courtyard, his horse ready. Kyle opened the gate for him, and he swung himself up to the saddle, leaning down one last time to kiss him on his head, whispering. “Be good, pet. I love you.”

He spurred his horse down the road and Kyle closed the gate, sliding down against it, sobbing.

Thais ran down to the kitchen later, out of breath. “Domina wants her breakfast...”

Shayla and Melissa looked up, they were already preparing lunch. “Breakfast is ready over there. Lis will bring it up.”

Thais paled. “She wants Kyle...”

The women looked at each other, and Shayla bellowed. “Kyle!”

The young man appeared from the pantry where he was putting away the shopping. “Yes?”

“Domina wants you to bring her breakfast up.” She rolled her eyes, and he blanched, knowing full well this would hurt.

He wordlessly picked up the tray though, and walked up to her room, knocking politely.

“Come in!”

He stepped inside, carefully bowing, and set the tray on her table. She rose from her bed, her robe half-open, and he lowered his head not to look at her.

She smirked. “You don’t like women? Pour me a drink.”

He handed her a cup of grape juice, and she sat down, looking at his drawn face.Miserable little pet... missing your master already...“Do you hate me, Kyle?”

“No, domina...”
