Kyle looked away, his voice soft. “I know...”
“But?”
He looked back at the Roman, his grey eyes calm. “But it is us who will stay behind with her... with you gone.”
Marius knew what he meant, and he could only hope. “I’ll leave instructions in place, and she’ll know where her place is. Nothing can happen to you; I’ll make sure of it.”
Kyle didn’t comment and his thoughts drifted to the possibilities of the future with her, this new domina who will be left alone with them. To the days he’d have to spend alone without Marius. The thought was killing him already, and he had to steel himself not to let his tears spill.
Marius pulled him into his arms, his tongue running along his neck. “Come to bed... let’s make the most of the time we have left...”
Kyle closed his eyes, his throat clutched.
Two weeks flew by fast, and the wedding day had arrived. It was celebrated at Seraphina’s father’s house, so they had to wait all day for the newlywed couple to come home. The slaves were grim, even more so with Marius’ impending leave, still, Kyle and Lisandra prepared Seraphina’s bedroom where they would consummate the marriage... They arranged candles, red roses in large vases, and scattered rose petals everywhere.
The ceremonial statue of the god of fertility had been sent earlier, and Lis looked at it, a bit horrified. “This tradition... I mean... I just can’t get my head around it.”
Kyle glanced at the statue of the god, his wooden phallus standing proud and ready. He shrugged. “One more Roman madness...”
He was bitter, and Lis walked to him, gently laying her hand on his shoulder. “You’re jealous... and sad...”
He didn’t comment, too tired and strained to think straight.Jealous? Maybe... Sad? More like devastated... not because you will fuck her tonight, but because you’re leaving me...He sighed. “Let’s go, we’re done here.”
“When will they arrive?”
“I don’t know...”
Kyle waited awake near the door and finally, after midnight, there was a knock and he opened it, kneeling straight away. Marius walked in, carrying Seraphina in his arms, the crowd outside cheering and laughing. He rose to close the door whilst Marius let Seraphina down. Kyle noticed he was drunk, but not too much.
She smiled at him; her eyes misted over. “Take me to our room...”
Marius smiled back. “With pleasure... this way.”
Kyle carried a torch in front of them, and Marius watched his swaying hips, his mind already fed up with the wedding night. Still, he could not talk to him, so he tugged Seraphina along. Kyle opened the door to the room, the candles blazing, the sweet smell of flowers pouring out with the night breeze and Marius stopped, momentarily floored.
Seraphina’s face lit up. “Oh, my... how beautiful...” She turned to Marius, lifting her face. “Thank you.”
He smiled, vaguely embarrassed, and gestured her in. “This is your room now.” She wandered inside, her hand brushing the flowers, her eyes going to the large windows leading to her terrace.
Marius turned quickly to Kyle, who was about to leave. “Sleep in our room tonight?”
The slave looked at him, struggling not to give away his emotions. “Thank you, dominus, but I’ll sleep in my room.”
Marius’ face darkened, but Kyle just bowed and closed the door.
He almost went after him when Seraphina came back and pressed her body against his muscles. “I’ve been waiting for this night forever... come, make me yours.”
Marius swallowed his anger and led her to the bed, slowly peeling their clothes off. She was quite beautiful on the bed, her red lips parted, her milky skin glowing in the candlelight, her auburn hair loose, falling on her shoulders in broad curls. He bent down above her to kiss her, his hands going to her breasts and her breath quickened, her head falling back on the pillows. She kissed him back and the softness of her mouth was odd, her tongue gentle, and it frustrated him, so he kissed her harder, pushing his tongue around her mouth to awaken her senses.
She pushed him back a bit, out of breath. “Wow... this is my first night with a man... take it slow?”
He forced a smile onto his face. “Sure...”
They went back to kissing slowly, Marius’ hand trailing down between her legs.
She clamped them shut before he could touch her, and he broke the kiss, a bit exasperated. “What’s wrong? I won’t be able to do anything with you if you close your legs...”
She smiled nervously. “Well, take it slow then...”
