“How about Marcellus? It is almost like your name now.”

He sighed, giving in. “Fine.”

Kyle beamed. “And I’m Brian, the Celtic warrior on a quest to find his long-lost brother.”

They continued their journey then, staying away from the valley and the villages, stumbling on small man-roamed paths in the woods just to stray away. At one point, though, they took one, winding down into the valley, their hearts in their throats. It led to a larger road, traces of wheels, and they followed it, Marius walking behind Kyle. Soon, they spotted a village on the right, but they walked farther, not wanting to stop.

A man was coming down the road, maybe in his fifties, tall, his light brown beard and hair blending, walking a donkey, its back full of bags. He slowed, careful, but not hostile, and stopped in front of them, greeting them in his language, but Kyle looked embarrassed, answering in Celtic.

The man smiled, switching to Latin. “A Celt here? Unusual.”

Kyle shrugged, trying to sound casual. “I’m roaming the Empire, looking for my brother.”

The man looked at Marius, who did his best to lower his eyes. “And your friend?”

“He is not my friend. He’s my slave.”

The man looked puzzled but didn’t comment. “Come with me to my village. I can put you up for the night. We rarely get visitors.” Kyle hesitated, but the man just grabbed his arm. “Come, come... I see you need persuasion, but a good meal near the fire will change your mind, good man.”

Kyle sighed and followed him, swiftly glancing at Marius who played his part.

They followed the man to the village, to one of the bigger huts, and he gestured them in. “Sit down and wait for me. I won’t be long. There’s wine on the table. Your slave can serve you.”

Kyle walked into the sparsely furnished main room, a hearty fire in the fireplace, a table, and a jug of wine with some cups. They took their fur coats off and Kyle sat down, looking at Marius. “I’m afraid you’ll have to kneel.”

He pursed his lips. “Fucking perfect.” Marius did it though, a strange feeling coursing through him being at eye level with Kyle’s hips in this position.

The man came in then, looking them over, sitting down in front of Kyle. “So, you’re looking for your brother...”

“Yes... he was captured years ago by the Romans. I barely escaped. He could be anywhere...”

The man nodded. “You’ll have to move further south; this is not so much a territory Romans control... I mean, they think they do.” They laughed, Kyle playing the part, and the man’s eyes drifted to Marius. “And this one here? He looks like a Roman...”

Kyle smiled. “He’s a bastard. A Roman’s bastard, or so I’ve been told when I bought him.”

The man nodded. “Such a huge man and you can control him.”

Kyle smiled, his eyes dark. “Yes... let’s just say that he might be big, but he’s been trained to be a slut.”

Marius’ face flushed red, thankfully keeping his eyes down, his fingers digging into his thighs.What. The. Fuck.

The man looked at him, incredulous, but then burst out laughing. “No way!”

Kyle smiled. “Well, it’s difficult to believe, but that’s how it is...” He hooked his finger under Marius’ jaw, tipping his head up, his blue eyes boring into his, making Kyle shiver. He’s pissed... but he can’t do anything now...He looked down at him, cupping his chin, his thumb under his mouth. “Aren’t you a good little slut, pet?”

Marius’ voice was like ice. “I am, dominus...”

Kyle smiled, grazing his lower lip, pushing his thumb into his mouth. “Suck.”

He did, holding his gaze all the while and Kyle pulled out his thumb, fisting his hair. “Good boy...”

Marius lowered his head again, his heart burning from shame, desire? He could not tell and kneeled silently.

The man shook his head. “My, my... that’s uncanny, but then again, why not? Better than shagging goats, I guess.”

They laughed again and talked whilst eating, the man telling him how to get to the nearest town, how to avoid Romans and get further south. “All roads lead to Rome if this is your last destination. With a good pace every day, you’ll be there by springtime.”

Kyle blanched. They were far... Marius tensed, and Kyle just put his hand on his back, soothing.
