“You just accusedmeof being an old man,” Daniel said. “Come on, it’s been so long since we did something like this! I’ll call the rest of the boys!”
“The old group? You, me, Roger, and Joe?” I asked.
“I hear Keith is also in town,” Daniel said. “I’ll call him too. What do you say?”
I puffed my cigar and looked at my friend. It had been quite some time since we went out partying like that. I had been brooding over Stella all day, and meeting my friends after so long would be a refreshing change of pace. Roger knew how to liven up a party, and Keith was almost never in town.
“Do it,” I said, grinning. “It will be like back to when we were younger. Do you remember our teenage years? Raving at clubs and getting drunk?”
“Do you remember the time Roger slept with a hooker to win a bet and ended up getting an STD?” Daniel asked.
I laughed at the memory and said, “Do you remember the time Joe got so drunk he ended up sleeping with the daughter of a mafia mobster?”
“Man, that was bad,” Daniel said, whistling. “That was really bad. Did you know he eventually had to marry the girl?”
“Really?”
“They are still married, and he has a family,” Daniel said shaking his head. “Apparently, that was the only option her father gave him. Mobsters don’t let random men take their daughters’ virginity without consequences.”
“Well, let’s make sure we don’t end up with daughters of any mafia bosses tonight,” I said.
“Sounds like a plan,” Daniel said, chuckling.
