"Oh, fuck, Katya," Jax swears before pulling out and exploding all over my backside. I can feel his warm seed coating my skin, marking me.

When he's spent, he falls against me, pressing us up against the wall. His ragged breaths are at my ear as I try to calm my own breathing.

Every time with Jax is amazing. And just when I think it can't get any better…it does.

After a while, he pulls back, taking off his t-shirt and cleaning me up before pulling my pants back up.

Him standing there shirtless makes my stomach flip-flop. He is so lean and muscular, and his ripped abs have me biting my lip to stop from moaning out loud or saying something stupid.

When I peer up at him through my lashes, he has a cocky smirk on his face. "Well, now that I got my workout in today too," he jokes, "let's go see what Maria made for lunch."

He opens the door for me, and I can't help but smile. The smile lasts all the way through lunch and most of the day. I don't think I've ever smiled so much in my entire life. And although it scares me that Jax could totally break my heart someday soon, I allow myself to pretend for just a little while that I finally found my prince, just like in a fairy tale.

CHAPTER 31

JACKSON

WE'RE ALL GATHERED around the table, eating dinner together and talking. I'm sitting beside Katya on one side while Lucien and Wraith occupy the other side. It's the first dinner where all four of us have actually attended at the same time.

I practically had to force Lucien out of his office, and he reluctantly relented.

Eventually.

Okay. Well, maybe after I practically begged and bribed him.

But that's beside the point. He's here, and that's all that matters.

It's good to get him out of that office and away from his obsession over finding Adeline. For at least a little while anyway.

I know deep down in my soul that we'll find her again and bring her home. It's only a matter of time. I just wish my eternally brooding cousin could hold onto my own optimism.

I squeeze Katya's hand under the table, and she turns and smiles at me before continuing on with a story about something Maria told her the other day.

And then, I watch in disbelief as Lucien cracks a grin at Katya's animated tale. I rub my eyes to make sure I'm not fucking dream and…yep, he's actually smiling.

Even though the two of them aren't the best communicators in the world, Katya is slowly opening up more to Lucien and vice versa. They aren't in the friend zone yet, but I have no doubt that they could end up there someday.

If I allow myself to think about it, I could imagine the four of us growing old together.

Katya and I married.

Adeline and Lucien married.

Kids.

Maybe some grandkids.

A picturesque future.

I can't help it when my eyes stray over to Katya as she giggles at something Wraith said. She's so fucking beautiful it almost hurts to look at her.

And I realize in that moment that I'm falling so fast for the girl that it scares the hell out of me.

The past few weeks have worked a miracle on her without a doubt. She looks happy and healthy — two things she definitely wasn't when I first met her. And it makes me swell with pride knowing that I helped her.

But clearly, there's been more than one miracle here.

Katya gives me hope for something I never thought I could have.
