“I want more, Kieran. I want everything you can give me.”

“I willnae say nae tae that,” Kieran said, smiling broadly as he gazed into her eyes.

This was where Vivien belonged; she did not doubt that. This was where she wanted to be, in Kieran’s arms, for the rest of her life.

* * *

Kieran could not refuse Vivien. He wanted more just as much as she did.

The thrill of being with her had all but undone him. Kieran had never expected that making love to Vivien could feel so good; that making love to anyone could feel so good.

Seeing her orgasm for the first time in her life had caused him massive discomfort as his groin hardened, but it was well worth it. Knowing that he was the first and only man to have ever touched her made their hours together even more unique and romantic.

He was addicted to her, and he knew that. Kieran needed Vivien as much as he needed air to breathe. The passion he felt for her was matched by hers for him. He had never thought that a woman could make him feel the way she did, that he could desire one so much that he was willing to put everything on the line for her.

He would do anything to make Vivien his.

Vivien turned to him, and all Kieran could do was allow himself to lose himself completely in her body and their shared passion.

Chapter Eighteen

“What the blazes is going on in here?” a female voice screeched.

Kieran groaned; it was Tilly. He knew that sound better than anyone.

Vivien bolted upright into a sitting position, her eyes wide, hair a wild mess. She groped around for her clothes, but they were clear on the other side of the room. The look of despair and horror on her face would cause Kieran no small amount of guilt for the next few weeks to come. He moved off the blanket and tossed it at her so that she could cover herself.

“I should think it’s obvious,” Kieran said quite calmly, even though he was far from calm at that moment.

Tilly and Bailey were both standing in the doorway to the cabin, both armed with sufficient weapons to arm at least six others. Bailey had his sword drawn, while Tilly had her dagger in her hand and more tied to the belt around her waist.

Tilly’s jaw dropped, her eyes as wide as saucers, Bailey’s eyes firmly fixed on the floor.

He could not help himself. Kieran burst out laughing. Between the drawn weapons, the look of shock and horror on Tilly’s face, to the expression of complete dismay on Bailey’s, it was just too much to handle.

Kieran had never thought his own sister would ever see him naked as an adult, never mind catching him in the act of making love. He knew that was something he hoped he would never see her doing.

But there she stood, his baby sister, holding and carrying a bunch of weapons, along with his best friend, in the middle of the night, looking almost exactly like their mother had whenever she caught them doing something they should not have been doing.

“Ye have seen a naked man ‘afore, have ye not?” Kieran teased her, “I should think ye can tell quite quickly what’s afoot, sister.”

Tilly began to stutter incoherently, at which Kieran could only chuckle more. He had quite possibly scarred her for life, but in his opinion, the laugh he would be getting out of this for the foreseeable future was well worth it.

“Tilly,” Bailey said softly from behind her, “I think we should give them a minute to get dressed, shall we?”

Tilly nodded dumbly, her eyes darting around the entire room as though she was too afraid of where they might land and what she might end up seeing.

“Right, yes,” she mumbled, as Bailey gripped her shoulders, turned her around and walked her out of the cabin.

Kieran turned to Vivien, whose face had lost all color. She seemed to be trembling slightly, her eyes wide and glazed over. He had not thought of how this would affect her. She most certainly did not seem to see the humor in the situation.

“Och, I’m so sorry abou’ that,” Kieran said, “I didnae expect those two buffoons tae come looking for me. In hindsight, I should have known they would.”

Vivien turned her head to look at Kieran slowly, and said “Who – who are they?” The horrified expression on her face was not budging.

Kieran grimaced and wrinkled his nose up, trying to prevent himself from laughing again.

“It’s just my baby sister, Tilly, an’ my closest friend, Bailey. They must have started worrying abou’ me – I think we have been gone a lot longer than it feels like.”
