“I told you I was waiting until after she got back from her trip.”
And yet, she’s right here.
“Davis?”
By the look on her face, she didn’t see it coming. I almost feel sorry for her. Almost.
“I…” And the liar looks like he doesn’t know what to say. That’s a first.
“Are you fucking her?” she asks.
“Hewasfucking her,” Rogue interjects. “And after she ended things, your good-for-nothing husband started stalking her. That’s how we met, isn’t that right, angel?” He smiles down at me.
“It sure is.” I nuzzle in closer. “And then I fell madly in love with you and realized that I never loved Davis. And by the way, you were stupid for giving up his massive dick for that little prick over there.” I snarl at Davis. After being with Rogue, there’s no comparison.
“This girl is a keeper,” King states, making me grin wider.
“She sure is,” Rogue agrees.
“I don’t understand, Davis. How could you do this to me?” The bitch looks devastated.
Because he’s a lying piece of shit who wouldn’t know decency if it bit him in the ass.
“Really, Kara?” Rogue cuts his stare towards her. “You think the man who slept with his brother’s wife would be faithful to you? I knew you weren’t the smartest tool in the shed, but I didn’t realize you were that dense. He was cheating on you for over a year and you didn’t have a clue. Oh, and he just bought her a five-carat diamond ring. You may want to talk to the attorney about that.”
“You what?” She turns to her husband and the look on her face is priceless. I wish Viv was here to see this.
I’m just as shocked as she is about the ring. Even after telling him I wasn’t interested, he was still going to propose. He’s definitely a stalker.
“I’m so thankful you walked into the restaurant that day and revealed the truth.” I turn to her, my voice nice and smooth. “You showed me exactly what kind of man he is. You’re a lying, cheating bastard, Davis, and I regret wasting a year of my life on you.”
“You all need to take this matter outside,” grunts Asshole Senior. “This is not the place for this.”
“Why, Dad?” Rogue cocks his head. “Are you worried your reputation will be tainted? Let me tell you. After we send the media all the emails and text messages we’ve uncovered, your reputation will be over. And this piece of shit you call your son is finished. Your medical career is over, Davis. As soon as we file a harassment report and a restraining order, you’ll have to answer to the medical board for your behavior.”
“You can’t fucking touch me,” Davis spits at him. “And it wasn’t harassment. No one can prove that.”
“I can.” I smile. “And I have witnesses from work and from campus to prove my case. You’re going down, motherfucker.”
“If you don’t marry this girl, I will,” King chuckles from the side.
“Oh, I’m definitely marrying her.” Rogue hits me with another smile. “I love you, baby.”
“I love you too.”
“You hear that, Davis?” He turns his smirk on the lying asshole who finally looks like reality is sinking in. “Looks like I’m the one who gets the girl this time. And I got the best one in the whole world. You can have that bitch; my girl is the sexiest littlething ever. Sweet, pretty, smart, and gives the best…” I place my hand over his mouth, and he chuckles against it.
“Your father is listening,” I tease, looking toward King.
“Fuck, babe.” Rogue shakes his head. “It’s time for us to head out.”
“Damn!” King grunts. “I’m fucking glad the asshole stole that one from you. This little one is a million times more incredible.”
Rogue suddenly scoops me up and gives me a kiss. “A big fucking amen to that.” He places one more kiss on my lips, taking his tongue away from me all too soon. “It’s time to get you home so I can have my wicked way with you.” He turns toward his dad and brother, and I watch them slink back. They’re actually afraid of him. “You all are done. Be prepared to feel the pain.”
And on that note, he’s turning and carrying me toward the exit, telling the others to handle them. I really hope that’s the last time I have to see those toxic people. From now on, I’ll be Rogue’s family. Along with all those men who were standing at his side tonight. Now, I understand what Shayna’s been talking about, why she didn’t want to leave them. They’re good men. Loyal and protective. And honest.
That’s the most important trait if you ask me.
