My hips slap against the back of her thighs. I can’t get enough, and each thrust feels deeper. I’m so close.

“Wyatt. I’m… Oh, God.”

I see stars behind my eyes and I feel her give in to her release.

I pull her up close to me and push into her a few more times before I find my own.

“You are mine.” I kiss down the side of her neck before I turn her head and kiss her gently on the lips. “I’ll never get enough of you.”

We take a minute to put ourselves back together and head back out to the party, hoping nobody has realized we were missing. My arms stay around Blair’s body as we head outside, and I pull her onto the makeshift dance floor and sway with her to the music. It’s a perfect evening.

“Hey, beautiful.”

“Hey, handsome.”

I pull her close and nuzzle my face into the side of her neck. “This has been a pretty great summer,” I whisper.

“It has,” she says, “but I’m not sure the version of me in May would believe it if I told her how this summer would end.”

“How long do you think we need to stay so we get an invite for next year?” I ask Blair.

“I think we’ve stayed an appropriate amount of time.”

I take her hand, and we head back to the bar area to find Sophia. She’s there, standing next to Jake.

“Hey, you made it!” I say. “I’m so glad you came.”

“Lauren is missing out. I can’t believe she couldn’t make it,” Blair says as she wraps her arm around my waist and leans in for a quick kiss.

“Her trip to Mexico was planned before we knew about this. Maybe she can make it next year.” Jake’s face shifts into a look of frustration and sadness and then back to his default happiness so quickly that I would’ve missed it if I didn’t know him so well. I’ll have to ask him if everything is ok when we’re back in the office next week.

“Definitely next year.” I give him a supportive smile.

“So, I think we’re going to head out,” Blair says. “You ready, Soph?”

“I think I’ll hang for a little longer. I can grab a car to bring me back.”

We say a quick goodbye to Jake and a few others before we sneak out undetected by our host and then start the drive back to the beach house.

“Is it weird that Jake and Lauren just got back from their honeymoon and she’s already taking a trip to Mexico with her girlfriends?” Blair asks.

“Definitely weird,” I tell her, “especially since she cut the honeymoon short.”

“Please promise me you’ll never cut our honeymoon short.”

I don’t even think Blair realizes what she’s said.

“I promise,” I reply. “I’m just happy to hear there’s a honeymoon in our future.”

She drops her head into my chest, embarrassed by what she’s said, but I pull her chin up so she’s looking up at me.

“I’d marry you tomorrow if you’d let me, Blair.”

“Let’s make it through another season, and then we can talk,” she jokes.

I kiss her gently and then more intentionally, letting her know I plan to hold her to that timeline. She leans against me, resting her head on my chest, and I let my mind wander to the holiday season and what a proposal might look like. I make a mental note to go ring shopping when I’m back in LA. Then I pull Blair closer and kiss the top of her head, knowing I have so much to look forward to.
