The last two weeks have been so easy and fun. I crave time with her, even if it doesn’t end in sex. I also dream about having sex with her every time I leave her. I’m so desperate for her that I didn’t even realize I’ve been taking whatever I can get from her.

We need to talk.

I’m nervous even thinking those words. Those are relationship words, and I have no idea how to have a relationship with anyone.

Even worse, what if she doesn’t want a relationship with me?

I text Blair to see if she’s up for dinner tonight. I wait to see her response before I suggest a place.

ME

Dinner?

BLAIR

Sure. Time? Place?

ME

My house?

I see three dots appear, then disappear, and then appear again. I jump in with another text so she doesn’t think I’m suggesting this just to sleep with her.

ME

I wanted to cook for you. I make a mean lobster roll.

After a few more minutes, she responds.

BLAIR

Ok. Send me the address.

I text her my address and then jump into work so I can wrap things up here and get ready for tonight. Because I do not know what I’m going to say.

Wyatt’s place is breathtaking. It’s a house on the Santa Monica-Venice border with breathtaking views of the ocean. There is as much outdoor space as there is indoor space. It’s an open floor plan with the living, dining, and kitchen areas all visible once you are inside. The back of the house is made of glass doors that slide open to a back patio. I notice the small spa connected to a gorgeous square pool and wonder if Bethany has been in there. Fences line the sides of the yard but not the back because it leads straight out onto the beach.

“This place is incredible.” I’m standing at the open doors, looking out at the ocean while he’s in the kitchen, working on dinner.

“Thanks. It’s the one place that brings me peace.”

“I can imagine the entertaining you must do here.” How many women has he been able to seduce with this setup? Already, my panties are dropping, and I haven’t even gotten close to him yet.

“Oh, I haven’t really entertained yet. I’ve only lived here for a year. Unless you count Mom and Sophia. I guess a few buddies have come over to watch a game or two.”

“Uh-huh. I can imagine the ladies are impressed.”

“I don’t know. Are you? You’re the first lady I’ve ever invited here.”
