“Hey!”

He laughed, then turned me around and placed my hands on the shower seat. Next thing, the bamboo bath brush crashed against my bottom.

“Hey!” I tried again, but Artair just swirled his finger in the air for me to turn back and face the wall. The bath brush landed several more times, creating a burn that flared and ignited my clit. I screamed his name as my release crashed through me. He dropped the brush and placed my foot on the bench, my hands now pressed against the wall, then he entered me.

A few thrusts in, I orgasmed again, shouting, “Daddee!” as I fell apart. His cock seemed to grow just before hot bursts of his seed filled me, setting off another powerful orgasm in me. When he pulled out, I dropped down onto the seat to catch my breath.

He lifted me and sat, placing me on his lap and leaning his head against the wall. “You drive me wild, lass.”

“I'm glad,” I teased.

“Are you now? You like making me want you?”

“I do,” I answered honestly.

His face grew serious. “Luna, how do you feel about staying here with me? I mean, in Scotland.”

I knew what he was asking, but to deflect from the directness of his question, I answered glibly, “I thought Iwasstaying with you here in Scotland.”

His eyes darkened, the light caught the limbic rings, giving him the look of a large, wet, predatory cat.

“Luna, let me be clear. I want you to stay with me.”

I suddenly felt uncomfortable and traced the dragon up his arm with my finger. “For how long?”

“For as long as you want.”

Hmm. Not the answer I was looking for, and I felt like Artair couldn't give me the answer I wanted. This was about him wanting to protect me from the big bad men trying to fuck with my life, and the sex. There was no denying the chemistry between us was off the charts, and it was no secret I'd fallen in love with Scotland, but he was under pressure to protect me. Maybe when the bad guy responsible for upending my life was caught, and Artair had no reason to feel obligated to protect me, then I would know if he really wanted me.

“I'll think about it,” I replied, not wishing to share aloud my thoughts on the subject.

He nodded his head like the matter was settled, but I didn't miss the haunted look in his eyes before he stood up to wash.

Chapter Ten

Artair

“The phone has been compromised. My guess is the lass came here with it already tampered with.”

Alan had messaged Graeme to have me call him on an old payphone in the next town over. I thought it was a crazy request. I leaned against the glass of the small booth. Now I felt like an idiot. It made perfect sense that there would be a tracker on her phone. I'd wondered how they knew to look for her in Scotland, but assumed they'd hacked into the airport database when she dropped out of school and just followed her here.

This was not the case. If they had access to her phone, they also had access to everything she had stored on there. I hada sinking feeling that Luna had stored her passwords in her Samsung notes.

“Bloody hell!”

“Exactly right, but I have a plan on how this can work in your favor, and in hers.”

“I'm solution-oriented, Alan, share away.”

“You have a gala fundraiser tomorrow night at the Kelvingrove Art Museum?”

“How did you know that?”

“Because Miss Luna added it to her Google calendar. That means those arseholes also know. When you see her,” he continued, “let her know that you are setting up Blacktop and need her help. Tell her to alert her high-end account followers that she will be premiering a live video stream of her feet wearing a pair of shoes they won't want to miss, livestreaming from Kelvingrove Gallery in Glasgow, Scotland. If they want access to the live stream, they have to sign up, and she will provide them with a link.”

They were going to use her as bait, and as much as I wanted to say no, this might be our only chance.

“I guess I'm taking the lovely Miss Luna shoe shopping.”
