I can't explain the sudden appearance of this thing on my hand that nothing in my mom's makeup arsenal could hide.It just appeared. And Jasmine knew about it.

Okay, I need to pick a belief and stick with it.I'm dreaming. This is all a silly little dream within a dream.I'm tricking myself.No.I'm too rational for that.I'm going to die when that little line moves to the twelve mark.

And the only creatures who can help me are passed out on my floor like three green lumbering clods. But what if they're dead? What if I killed them?

No, I didn't.They're still snoring softly, fast asleep. But then all I see are their cocks, and my gaze lingers there a little too long.

Crap.I pull a couple of throws from my reading sofa and cover them up.There.Much better. It doesn't solve my problem, though—the one where I might be scheduled to die.

I whirl around the room, scratching the itch on my arm, looking for something to revive them with. What do I do?

I grab my taser and hope for a miracle. If I couldn't knock them down with it before, maybe I can shock them awake now.

I tase them.Long.Hard.Dammit.They don't seem to feel a thing.

Loud sounds.Yes.I reach for my phone and blast the loudest, heaviest rock music I can find, holding my phone right beside their ears.

Nothing happens.

Maybe if I shout their names, it doesn't matter who's who since I'll be calling them out collectively.I reach for the letter, knowing instinctively that I'm going to butcher the pronunciation, which will defeat the purpose if I call them something else.I sit down at my desk and unscramble the letters as Jasmine advised.Bingo.

Damien.Caleb.Fenric.

I shout their names, my throat going hoarse, but they remain dead to the world.

I prod and poke, try to lift their eyelids, and tickle their feet.I jump on them like I'm a wrestler, and still nothing happens.

One more thing to try.I race out of my room and down the stairs into the kitchen.Surely an ice bath will do the trick. If it doesn't, I don't know what I'm going to do.
