“I want you to do anything you want.”

Evie smiled as she teased Maggie with her finger tips before plunging them inside. Thrust after thrust she felt Maggie get tighter as the wetness slid over her fingers. It was beautiful to make her feel so good.

Maggie’s hand reached down to Evie’s head, pushing gently as Evie found her clit with her mouth.

“That feels incredible,” she moaned.

Evie looked up at her, locking eyes in deep contact, as her tongue worked fast on her clit whilst her fingers thrust deeply.

“I’m coming for you, Evie,” Maggie moaned as her hips started to buckle.

“Cum so hard for me,” Evie directed.

And she did. Her body jerked into Evie as her thighs tightened around her body. The orgasm rushed through her body like electricity before she relaxed into the bed.

Afterward, they lay tangled together, sweat-slicked and breathless, neither one willing to move.

“That was—” Maggie started, then stopped, apparently unable to find words.

“Yeah,” Evie agreed, pressing a kiss to her shoulder. “It was.”

Maggie’s fingers traced lazy patterns on Evie’s back. “I forgot it could feel like this. I feel so alive with you.”

“I think that’s called love,” Evie said, propping herself up to look at Maggie. “The good kind. The kind worth keeping. And that’s not just the orgasm talking.”

“Worth fighting for,” Maggie agreed.

They lay there as the room darkened, neither one willing to break the spell by turning on lights or checking phones or acknowledging that the world existed beyond this bed.

Finally, Maggie spoke. “You should probably stay. It’s late.”

Evie smiled against her skin. “Is that Doctor Laurel’s professional medical opinion?”

“That’s Maggie asking if you’ll stay the night,” Maggie said. “Because I’m not ready for you to leave yet.”

“Then I’ll stay,” Evie said simply.

They fell asleep like that—Evie’s head on Maggie’s chest, Maggie’s arms wrapped securely around her, both of them choosing trust over fear.

Evie woke to sunlight streaming through unfamiliar windows and the warm weight of Maggie beside her. For a moment, she just lay there, listening to the steady rhythm of Maggie’s breathing, feeling the rise and fall of her chest. It was such a simple thing—waking up next to someone—but it felt monumental after everything they’d been through.

Maggie stirred, eyes blinking open slowly. When they focused on Evie, a smile spread across her face—soft and unguarded in a way Evie had never seen.

“Hi,” Maggie said, voice rough with sleep.

“Hey,” Evie replied.

They stayed like that for a long moment, just looking at each other in the morning light.

“I should get up,” Evie said reluctantly. “I have rounds at eight.”

Maggie’s arms tightened around her. “Ah, I don’t want you to leave. Can you call in sick?”

“I don’t want to leave either,” Evie admitted. “But I have patients. And you’re supposed to be on administrative leave, which means sleeping in. And do you think a sick day is gonna fly with Doctor Patel?”

“I’ve been awake since five every morning for the past week,” Maggie said. “My body doesn’t know how to sleep in anymore. And pfft, she will get over it.

Evie kissed her softly. “Then maybe you need to learn. Add it to your list.”
