"I don't care. All I want to do is go to the gym. Can we do that?"
"Of course."
Relief washes over me. I thought he was going to put up a fight. My body starts to relax when he casually says, "I'm just going to be right next to you the whole time."
Ohfuck. I let out a deep breath. I was hoping to get some time to myself, get my head on straight, but that doesn't look like it will be happening.
Chapter ten
Matt
I'm such a fucking idiot. How did I not hear her coming up behind me this morning? It's supposed to be part of my job, to make sure that someone doesn't sneak up on me. Am I losing my touch or is it this infuriating woman?
When Myers suggested that I wasn't completely in the job because Elsie was involved, he pissed me off. Since she couldn't hear the whole thing and just heard me yelling that she's a job, she misunderstood.
Now I'm sitting in this kitchen with a pissed off young woman, and all I want to do is soothe her. Something tells me though, I need to let her exhaust herself first, before I talk about this with her. Elsie loves to fight and will to the bitter end, if I don't get her mind off of it.
That's why I agreed to go to the gym. She's used to working out every day, her body must be feeling restless. Rose Valley is sucha small town that they only have one gym, and I happen to know the man who owns.
"Ready to go?" I ask her, after she pierces the last bite of her omelet.
"Yep. Let me just put these dishes away."
I watch as she walks away, making my cock harden when she bends over to place it in the dishwasher, showing me her perfectly round ass in those leggings. Bringing my fist to my mouth, I can't help but bite it to keep me from letting out a groan.Shit,I'm going to be in big trouble when we get to the gym. Maybe I should convince her to stay here instead.
She twirls around, facing me. I quickly drop my hand, hoping that she doesn't realize how hard I am at this moment. "Now I'm ready to go."
"Great," I mumble, standing up from my chair, adjusting my pants.
I place my hand on her lower back, slowly guiding her outside to the car. Listening for any type of noises, we quickly get into the SUV that I had Maxwell leave after we arrived yesterday.
Once Elsie is safely in the car, I round the hood, climbing in myself. The drive over to the gym is silent at first, but Elsie breaks it by asking, "Which gym are we going too?"
"One of my buddies."
"You have buddies here?"
"Yep. I lived here for a few years after I got out of the Marines."
"That's cool. I didn't know you lived here." she says, humming to herself a little, processing what I'm telling her.
"It's one of my favorite places. Everyone here in Rose Valley is nice, but stays out of your business. Mostly."
She looks out the window with a wistful look, "It is really beautiful here."
"Yeah, it is." I say, looking out at the trees that line the small road that we're driving down.
After a few moments, I can feel her gaze on me. I'm about to tell her to go ahead and ask her questions, but she beats me to it. "How long have you lived here?"
"Almost ten years."
"Why did you leave?"
"I haven't really left, but I started my business. Traveling to clients took priority."
"Hmm..." Elsie replies, but turns her attention back toward the window.
"What?" I ask.
