I love you.

I lo…

The hot tears that flow down my cheek are as unsettling as the agitated line left from the ink over his last word.

It’s too much, but I will fight for him, however many bad things he has done in his life, and I won’t let anyone stop me.

Bianca won’t know what awaits her.

And I will be with you every step of the way, until my soul loses itself in oblivion.

Chapter 24

Anora

I go back to my apartment with the bloody journal, more determined than ever to implement the plan I have made in my mind. A bit different from what I initially thought, but I think it will serve me better now.

Lucas still hasn’t come back from where he took…him. I leave the last memory with Marshall as the power I will need to go forward and exact a good revenge.

I put the journal on my bed and go to the room with the two brothers I left alone for long enough.

Blake is sitting peacefully in the armchair and doesn’t even flinch when he looks at me, even though my face is scary to watch. Two traces ofhisblood are sitting on each of my cheeks. They feel like the dose of adrenaline I needed to think rationally.

I turn my gaze to look at Paul, who is snoring loudly, so he’s sleeping soundly. I bandaged him before going to Marshall’s room so as not to have him on my mind too.

“So?” Blake asks me, getting my attention. “Did you kill her?”

“That’s what I plan to do.”

“Then whose blood is that?” he asks, confused.

“Guess,” I say, going to the closet in search of something to cut his rope.

It is too tight, and I don’t wanna bother loosening it up. I want to keep my strength, especially since I haven’t eaten all day.

Actually, I don’t even remember the last time I ate. Everything around me was too chaotic to notice that as well.

“Marshall,” Blake says more to himself. “Hey, what are you doing with that?”

He is agitated because I carry a blade and close the distance between us. He wants that armchair to absorb him so that he wouldn’t be touched by the blade I’m holding with my hand full of blood.

“I won’t kill you if that’s what you’re thinking,” I tell him, rolling my eyes. “Just fucking stay put if you don’t want me to harm you. Even if you deserve some more scars after all that you’ve done.”

“Are you sure?” he asks when my blade is ready to cut his rope.

“I don’t think I have anything more to lose at the moment. I need all the help I can get. Plus, she knew I hated you, so she just wanted to play with me through you,” I say and cut his string, completely freeing him.

“Thank you, Anmara. And I hope you know how sorry…”

“Yeah, yeah, I don’t have time for your excuses now. Keep them for when we manage tobreathefar away from this hell.”

I turn to distance myself from him, but he catches my wrist and turns me to face him.

“Leave her alone!” Lucas growls before Blake gets to say something, already prepared to beat him.

“Stay calm, Lucas. I am not made out of porcelain,” I say, freeing my hand from his easy hold. “And you, if you want toshow me how sorry you are, you’ll help me with anything I tell you to do. Do you understand?”

“Ay, ay, captain,” Blake smiles, saluting me, a fact that makes me roll my eyes.
