Iwake up to the sun shining through the window since we left the blackout drapes open last night after noticing how many stars are visible out here and Amelia asleep on my chest.

Fucking perfection. I’ve never been happier than I am right now.

It must be later than I normally wake up, but I haven’t bothered to check the time when there’s a knock on the door. The wedding isn’t until four, so I’m not worried about either of us being late for anything quite yet.

Gently rolling Amelia, I whisper, “Baby, I’ve got to answer the door.”

She doesn’t stir, even when I kiss her forehead. Dragging on a pair of sweats and a T-shirt, I walk through the suite and open the door.

“Jeez, Dad. I know you’re on vacation and all, but I didn’t figure you for sleeping in and answering the door in sweats.” Lizzie grins as she teases me. “I didn’t even know youownedsweats.”

“Bought them just for this trip. Really going for full vacation mode.” I smile at my daughter, trying not to act awkward. Thank god the bed isn’t visible from the door of the suite.

“I love vacation mode. Anyway, want to have brunch with me? Don’t worry, Mom won’t be there because it’s before noon.” She rolls her eyes. “I was going to invite Minnie, but Ican’t fucking find her. She’s not in her room or answering her phone.”

Amelia’s phone is probably in the small clutch she carried last night, which was on the floor near the couch the last time I saw it when I was ripping her dress off.

“Oh, um…” I feel my eyes drift toward the bedroom door and snap them back to Lizzie, but it’s too late.

“Oh my god, she’s with you?” She kind of squeaks it, eyes wide, then she hops and claps her hands. “You made up? Don’t tell me more than that, please. For the love of god, I don’t need details, just… You fixed things, right?”

“Pretty sure we’re good. Or at least on our way to being so. I know it’s probably weird for you, kiddo. It’s a little weird for us, but she’s the love of my life.”

She shrugs. “It’s weird, but not a bad weird. Just don’t fuck it up again because I don’t think any of us will survive that, you know?” She pokes me in the chest with a finger.

“Don’t worry, I’m not screwing this up.”

“Good. So brunch. Half an hour, in the dining room. Bring Minnie.”

“I’ll let her know.” I close the door and go back to Amelia, who is still asleep. I gently nuzzle her neck, and she presses closer to me. “Baby, it’s time to get up.”

She groans and squeezes her eyes closed harder than they already were. “Say that again,” she requests sleepily, wrapping her arms around my neck. “Just the first word.”

“Baby,” I whisper against her ear. A shiver runs through her and goes straight to my cock.

“Mmm, I like that.”

“Me, too. And tonight, we’ll be right back here after the reception so we can keep doing this. But now, we have a brunch date with Lizzie in about twenty-five minutes.”

Her eyes spring open. “We have a what?”

“A brunch date with Lizzie.”

“Oh god, Alex. Why do we have a brunch date with Bean?”

“Because she was just at the door to invite me and figured out you were here in about fifteen seconds.” She narrows her eyes at me. “I’m sorry, sunshine. My eyes flicked this way when she mentioned not knowing where you were.”

“The whole world is going to know by the end of the day, aren’t they?”

“Maybe not the whole world, but the whole wedding? Yeah, probably. I can’t help the way I look at you, Amelia. I’m surprised everyone hasn’t figured it out already.”

She pulls my head down for a kiss, but too soon, she’s wiggling out from under me and walking out to the living room. I follow her and sit on the couch.

“Fuck, I have to run to my room because I only have the dress I wore last night—damn it, Alex, you tore the shit out of this thing!” she says, picking it up off the floor. It’s unwearable, just like her panties, and I’m not at all sorry. I tell her so, and she pops her hands on her hips. I’m really wishing we had more time before brunch because she’s standing in front of me naked, pretending to be mad, but her eyes are sparkling.

Fuck it. I can see her pussy glistening from here, and there’s no way I can pass that up.

I jump to my feet, my lips crashing into hers as I turn her and back her up until her legs hit the couch, and she drops down onto it.
