She screamed out from the pain, or maybe it was pleasure. Everything was jumbled inside my head. The rage, the stress, us being apart, the passion, the satisfaction of a perfect fuck, having her back with me…
The stimulation hit its high as the pull inside my stomach blasted lower and radiated through me. In the moment I came, clarity took over. As long as I had her, there wasn’t anything I couldn’t overcome.
She was my life. It would always be her.
I pulled out of her and ran my thumb over the teeth marks I had left on her flesh. “That might bruise.”
“It was worth it,” she breathed out.
I released her hands from the tie, rubbing her wrists. “They might too.”
“My back is going to hurt and my shoulders will be sore tomorrow.” She turned around to face me. “I won’t be able to walk tomorrow either.”
“Sorry,” I whispered against her lips.
“Don’t apologize.” She caressed my jaw. “Do you feel better?”
“I do.” I grabbed the throw from the edge of the bed and draped it over her as we collapsed to the floor. “Thank you.”
“Milo.”
“Yes, baby.”
“That night at the penthouse, you did show me who you were.” She cuddled against me. “When you realized I had never had sex before, you could have kept going, but you didn’t.”
“That would have been wrong. You needed me to be softer and patient.”
“That’s who you are.”
“Only for you,” I admitted. “You’re the only woman I was brave enough to be myself with.”
“Thank you.” She kissed my chest. “For the record, I like being tied up and slammed into. I crave your control.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” What did I do to deserve this woman? “Next time, I’ll use the Versace.”
“You’ll get no complaints from me.”
“I gave in to you.” I tucked her against my side. “Now you have to give me something.”
“I think I just did,” she said.
Her soft laugh filled me with peace. Wouldn’t it be amazing if our relationship could be light and fun all of the time instead ofominous and full of conflict? As a couple, we were on point. We could accomplish anything, but with all the outside commotion, we were fighting an uphill battle. One that I feared was going to prevent us from moving forward.
“I’ll give you whatever you want.” Her melodic voice drew me from my internal torment.
Be careful what you say, Sweet Sable.
“You never told me what Bello said to you.” I ran my fingers down her arm. “This has been a chaotic night, but I need all the information I can get.”
“Does it matter?” She tensed against me. “You know it was him and you know what he wanted.”
“I need to make sure you’re okay.” Being assaulted by Bello had to wreak havoc on her mental well-being. I couldn’t put an ice pack on those emotional bruises. “If you want to talk about it, I’m here to listen.”
“His assault triggered me a little more than I would have expected. When he hit me, it brought up memories that I had buried.”
“What memories?”
She was silent for a few minutes, and I debated on whether I should push her. I didn’t want to hurt her any more than she already had been, but I couldn’t help her if I didn’t know what I was up against.
