When he moved his hand, blood was running down the back of his shirt and was all over his hand. Serg sat up and looked at Smutty as he stood there looking distraught.
“Nigga, you need stitches or some shit. What the fuck was in your phone? You know Kashuna don’t play like that. We gotta make a move tomorrow morning, so it didn’t make sense to get another room when we coming straight back over here,” Serg voiced.
“Man, I was texting my old sneaky link, trying to get back in good. I was telling her that I didn’t fuck with Kash no more and that I wanted to be with her. You know, just running shit so she would let me fuck. Her ass didn’t even respond, and now I’m in the doghouse,” Smutty said.
“She almost put yo’ ass in the hospital from the looks of it. Damn, my boy, you need to chill with all that shit. You got a good, loyal ass girl. Don’t fuck that up for a bitch you can’t even get a text back from. These hoes different these days! That’s why I ride so hard for my lady. They don’t make ’em like that no more.” Serg bragged about me.
I knew Smutty wasn’t trying to hear that. He had just got his head busted to the white meat. I walked out of the room to allow the guys to talk. Plus, I just didn’t want to hear Smutty’s triflin’ ass speak on cheating. I was ready for tomorrow to come, so we could make our move on Harmoni. The plan we came up with was foolproof. All we needed was for Journei to do her job and to not fumble.
At the end of the night, Serg told me that Smutty was going to help us snatch Harmoni and her baby. He promised to give him a couple thousand, but he made sure not to tell him how much we were planning to take from them.
Black had that barber shop and Jakari’s money, not to mention he was still active in the streets. The money that he was going to give us wasn’t shit compared to what he was touching.Either way, I didn’t give a fuck about that nigga or what he stood to lose. Before we went to bed, Serg promised me that no matter what, he would always have my back and be there for me. I believed him. I was ready to put an end to all of this and life happily ever after with my man and my son. Who didn’t want to be happy? Drama always seemed to find me, but at the end of the day, all I wanted was to be loved and happy.
The next morning, Journei called and told me that they would discharge Harmoni in an hour, but she would do her best to stall and slow down the process. She told me what exit they would be leaving from, so I told Serg what highway to take that would put us right there at the exit of the hospital. After getting ourselves together, Serg, Smutty, and I were in the car, headed to the hospital.
When we were ten minutes away, I texted Journei to let her know that we were close. She took a while to text back, but when she did, she told me that Black had surprised Harmoni with a pink Jeep as a push gift. My blood was instantly boiling. I couldn’t figure out what was so special about this girl.
“Journei said they’re in a pink Jeep and about to pull onto the highway in a minute. Speed up and make this right turn, but swing wide, so we can hit them head on,” I barked.
Serg did exactly what I told him to, and like clockwork, they were turning out as we were turning onto the street. I held onto the door and prepared for the impact. As soon as Serg hit them head on, all three of us jumped out the truck. I ran around the side and grabbed the baby and the car seat. Journei had loosened the belt before they took off, so it was easy for me to grab him out. I placed him into the truck as Journei ran down the street to our SUV.
“That shit was loud as fuck! Y’all need to get out of here now! It’s no time to waste. Hurry the fuck up! My everything is on the line right now!” Journei nervously told us.
At the same time, Serg and Smutty had placed Harmoni into the back seat. She was knocked out from the airbag, and I just hoped she stayed that way for a while. Smutty jumped in the back with her and the baby, I got into the front, and we sped off. Once we were onto the highway, I breathed a sigh of relief.
“Say, bruh! I ain’t with this shit! This is Moni! I ain’t even know she was pregnant or done had a baby! I can help y’all get them inside, but after that, let’s forget I had anything to do with this shit. I don’t even need the bread!” Smutty rambled.
“How the fuck do you know her, and why are you sounding so scared? Y’all Texas niggas weak as hell for real!” Serg spat.
“Nigga, I gotta live out here! You don’t! Moni is my old side chick’s best friend. Ciara is crazy as fuck, and she don’t play ’bout Moni. Ciara the type of bitch that will take herself down just to get at you. She don’t let shit die, and she’s evil as fuck. Then, the last I heard was that Moni was dating Black. If that’s Black’s baby and his girl that y’all snatched, shit is about to get real bloody ’round this bitch! I need to keep my hands clean. You my boy and we’ve done business in the past, but I’m not about to fuck around with them Mississippi niggas. They came down here and took over!” Smutty spat.
The fear smutty had in his voice let me know that he was really scared of the outcome. I thought Smutty was right though, maybe he should get the fuck from around us without getting a cut of the money. We didn’t need no scary niggas around us. Serg got on the phone and started making calls, asking around about who Black was. I told him that I had also heard people calling him Rowdy. By the time we got to the spot, Serg had gotten some information on Black, and he was now almost as nervous as Smutty.
Smutty took Harmoni inside and tied her up, while I grabbed the baby and the car seat. As I pulled the blanket from over the baby’s seat, I realized that the baby looked just like Black. He was definitely one of the most handsome babies I had ever seen. His resemblance to his father was uncanny. Something in me was jealous, and I couldn’t explain why. All I knew was that anything Harmoni wanted, Harmoni got. I was about to teach this bitch a tough lesson. As I tried to walk into the house with the baby, Serg stopped me.
“Baby, I know I told you that I was going to ride no matter what, so if you sure you want to go through with this, I’m gonna be behind you ten toes. I just learned that Rowdy is the son of Grimy. Grimy is known from Memphis to Mississippi, and he is exactly what his name says. That man has taken out entire families and doesn’t spare shit. Rowdy was walking in his shoes, so he had to ditch town before he got caught up. Grimy is now free off several murder charges and he now lives in Dallas. We’ve taken these people family from them, so you gotta know that they not gone take this shit lightly,” Serg explained.
“Shit, that’s what I like to hear. Give me something to look forward to,” I said as I walked into the house, leaving Serg and his feelings standing there.
After making sure we had everything we needed, Smutty left and asked that we keep him out of the rest of our plans. I laughed to myself at how scary this nigga was. He was only associates with Serg, so I couldn’t be too mad at him. He owed my man no loyalty or favors and allowing us to use this place was good enough. I placed the baby and his car seat on the couch in the living room, then I went into the bedroom where they had Harmoni tied up. As soon as I sat in the chair across from her, the baby started crying.
Call it a mother’s intuition, but as soon as the baby started crying, Harmoni started waking up after being knocked out cold for over an hour. I sat straight up in my chair and stared in her direction as she tried to get her vision focused.
What’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” I asked Harmoni.
Her eyes widened at the realization that I was alive and sitting right in front of her. As we made eye contact, I could see the pity that she felt for me also. I was smaller than I used to be, and my face was messed up now. Her baby started to cry louder.
“Please give me my son. He is innocent, and I need to feed him. I can’t just let him cry like that!” she cried.
“You sound just like I did when Black kidnapped me and my son. Unlock this phone. I need to call that nigga,” I said as I handed her cellphone to her. As soon as I called, Black answered immediately.
“Moni, where are you, baby? Are you and Cadence okay?” he answered.
“You couldn’t have thought you could kidnap me and my son, and I wasn’t going to touch yours. I told you that Jakari was a bitch, but I wasn’t going to let that shit slide. I meant that!” I said as I hung up in his face.
“The biggest mistake y’all made was letting your guards down, thinking I was dead without even asking to see a body. I taught Jakari a lesson, and now it’s your turn,” I told Harmoni as I punched her in the face with all my strength.
She yelled out in shock and agony. I watched as her eye instantly swelled shut. I had some pressure built up and I was definitely about to take all my frustrations out on her ass. As her baby continued to cry, Serg walked into the room holding him and gently bouncing him up and down.
