“I want to get married. We’ve been putting it off.”
“I’ll marry you any day at any time.”
“I know.” I bring my finger to his lips, tracing them. “I need it.” I know he’s mine, but I want more. It consumes me at times, this obsession I have with him. I want him to be mine in every way he can be.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
PAXTON
Tova smiles as she goes over the wedding plans. We have a war room going down in the library with folders, a board, and a map. Tova has taken over the parlor room, and it would put our war room to shame.
“Are you good with this?” she asks, finishing up the small details on my suit.
“There is one change I’d like to make if there is time,” I ask.
“Really?” Her brows rise.
“In the suit jacket.” I flip it open. It’s laid out on a large table. “Can a pocket be added here? About this size?” I hold up my fingers to show her.
“You don’t have to do that. It’s sweet of you to ask, though.”
“Excuse me?” I don’t understand what she means.
“I have a thing for pockets. That’s why you’re asking.”
“Sorry, but I had no idea you had a thing for pockets.” I let out a low chuckle. “I, too, happen to have one, I suppose. I have all my suits tailored to have that pocket.”
“Oh.” Tova perks up. “Do you keep something special in it?” Her face goes soft.
“I do.” I watch curiosity take over, but she doesn’t ask.
“I’ll make sure it’s done.”
“I’d appreciate that—all of your help actually.” Tova has been helping me with Naomi’s ring. She has many contacts here and can have it done quickly.
“I’m loving every second of it.” A smile overtakes her face.
That was part of why I’d gone to her as well. I knew she’d want to be a part of it, and I’m finding myself fond of Naomi’s mother. I didn’t anticipate how I would mesh with the family, but it’s far easier than I would have calculated.
My phone starts to vibrate in my pocket. I pull it out to see it’s a call from Arturo. I’ve been at the Marino estate for a few weeks now, and I’m having to delegate tasks. War and everyone else knows Naomi and I will be getting married without a shadow of a doubt.
For that reason, my docks are now under their protection. It has everyone backing off for the meantime. I’m sure they believe they will come back to the issue once everything is settled. That’s the thing, though; it’s not going to settle, at least not until everything unfolds.
I motion to Tova that I’m going to step out.
“How are things?” I ask Arturo as I make my way over to the library. No one is there. Naomi went downstairs to work out with Mac. I shut the door behind me.
“The last two shipments came in without issue.” I had sent him back out to the West Coast after we finished cleaning up the shop in Carolina.
I didn’t have a rat that told Luigi Esposito about the surprise ambush on their own ambush. That had been my first thought when the building across the street had been hit with Mac inside. We’d ended up finding cameras they’d put up and became aware right in the middle of it all.
“How about the meeting with Governor Welch? That went well?” I take a seat in one of the chairs while Arturo fills me inon the details. He’s been doing well, and I’m debating if I should send him out there full-time.
I glance toward the door when it opens, and Naomi slips in, closing it behind her. She’s in a sports bra and those stretchy black pants that always make me fucking hard.
Naomi has always turned me on. She’s all I thought about for years when I fucked my hand, imagining it would be her one day. Now that my dick knows what it feels like to be inside of her, my libido is fully awakened.
I mouth to her who I’m on the phone with and that I’ll only be a second. She waves it off, mouthing back to take my time as she makes her way over toward me. I shift back, spreading my thighs, thinking she’s going to sit down on my lap.
