Faith- That’s sweet but that little girl loves you. I don’t think she will have a problem with it. Come to think about it, Mason mentioned something about helping Victor move. Now I know why lol
Skylar- I’m so happy for you guys.
Rhylie- We need to have a party. Low key but all the family together at one of our houses. Probably yours Isabella so Kat has her stuff there. Let’s set it up for this Sunday since it’s supposed to be nice out.
Faith- Sounds good to me.
Skylar- Let me know what I can bring.
Isabella- I’ll see you guys then. Love you girls.
I put my phone down as Victor walked into the kitchen. You can see the strain in his eyes that he’s in a bit of pain.
“It smells amazing in here. Is this all for the cafe?”
“Some of it is. The cakes are for a kid's birthday party. I have to drop it off tomorrow the rest is for the cafe. You don’t look so good. Why don’t you stay here while I pick up Kat. We can just order the pizza to be delivered here instead of going out.” He walks over and kisses me. Just that little touch makes me want so much more from him.
“No, we promised Katya and I don’t like to break it if I don’t have to. Besides, I’ll be taking a pill tonight so I should be fine till then. Are you almost ready to go?”
Draining the last of my coffee I put the cup in the sink and turned around.“Ya, everything is done, just have to let them cool now.” I walk to the front and slip on my shoes. Victor is already holding the door open for me. I start to walk towards my car when Victor stops me with his next words out of his mouth.
“We will be taking my truck. No way can I cram my body into your small ass car again today.”
Rolling my eyes at the big baby, I walk to his truck. I opened the truck door, got inside ungraceful I might add, but no way was I letting him help me with his arm. I can hear him laughing as he closes my door. He gets it with a slight grimace and starts the engine backing out, he heads towards the school. “Sunday everyone is coming over for a BBQ. Rhylie is setting it up. But she figured Kat would be more comfortable doing it at her own house with her things. Is that okay with you?” Shit, I didn’t even think to ask before I gave the go-ahead on this. I'm nibbling on my lip waiting for an answer.
“Isabella, I told you it's your house now too I meant what I said earlier. If you want to have everyone over you don’t have to ask. Besides, it’s a perfect time that’s when everyone has off anyway. The guys and I were going to go get your shit from your apartment.”
Well okay then, I didn’t think it would be this week he wanted to do all that. “Are you sure we should be moving my stuff this week?”
“Yes. There’s no point in waiting. I want you in our house permanently, your stuff mixed in with mine as it should be.”
Well, when he puts it like that. “Okay. I’ll just go over and put notes on the stuff I would like to donate then.” He grabs my hand kissing the back of it a few times. Laying it across his leg, never letting go once.
“I love you, Isabella. Don’t stress about anything. I’ll always take care of you.”
“I love you too Victor,” I whisper, my throat clogging with emotion. We pull into the school parking lot. He shuts the engine off, turning towards me with a smirk on his face.
“I know who wouldn’t love all this hotness.” He rubs his hands up and down his body caressing himself.
Throwing my head back I laugh. I never thought he would say something like that. Shaking my head at him I open my door and hop out. “You're too much.”
Winking at me. “Yet you love me. And there are no takebacks with that so you're stuck with me for the rest of your life.”
Looking up at him I smile. “Trust me Victor I’m okay with that.”
The bell rings and all the kids rush outside, watching their smiling and laughing faces waving bye to all their friends. I watch as Katya makes her way slowly to us with her head down looking all sad. She walks up to us not saying anything. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her like this. Both of us bend down looking into her eyes and what I see breaks my heart. “Katya, why the sad face? Did something happen today?” She sniffles looking up with her tear-stained face. I gently wiped her tears.
“There is a mommy, daughter tea party at my school and I want to go but I don’t have a mommy.”
I look at Victor with tears in my eyes. He too has a haunted look on his face. It's breaking his heart to hear his niece so sad. I want to take her but I'm not sure how she would feel about it. I know I’ll never replace her mom but she shouldn’t have to be left out. Victor nods his head as if he knows what I’m thinking. Blowing out a breath I turn back to Katya and take her little hands in mine.
“What if I went with you Kat? I know I’m not your mom but I’m sure it’s okay if Aunties go too. We can even go dress shopping and do our nails. What do you say?”
The sad smile is quickly replaced by her beautiful smile. She throws her little arms around me giving me a tight squeeze. “I love you, Auntie Bella. I can’t wait, we are going to have so much fun.”
Rubbing her back, willing my damn tears not to fall.“I love you too Katya, so much. Now, who’s ready for some pizza?” Victor kisses Katya’s head giving me a soft look.
“Yay pizza! Just none of the gross stuff Uncle Victor likes with the pineapple on it. Yuck!”
