“Yes, I’ll come with you. Then I have to get back to my medical practice, so I’ll be leaving Edinburgh this afternoon.”
“Rom, are you interested in the psychologist’s position at the home for boys I told you about?” asked Ian.
“Yes, I am,” answered Rom, “but I’d like to find out more about it.”
“I’ll have Cody call you and he’ll be able to give you the details,” Ian said.
“Thanks.”
Having that settled, Logan rapped his knife against a water glass, and waited for the room to fall silent. With all eyes on him, he stood and said, “Kieran and I have some good news to share with you…babe, do you want to do the honors?”
Nodding, Kieran rose and moved close to Logan, taking his hand before gazing at the shifters who had become his family, while his other hand found its way to his belly. Excitement bubbled up in him, turning his cheeks pink and, unable to contain himself any more, he exclaimed, “We are having a pup!”
Except for Theo and Norman who were shouting in glee, the rest of the table looked stunned. Then Lizzie squealed, jumped up, and ran to Kieran, hugging him tightly while planting kisses on his cheeks. “Oh, my goodness, another grandpup for me! Congratulations, Kieran! When are you due? Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl? I don’t really care but it would be nice to know so I can figure out what to buy. Oh, what am I saying, of course I just need to buy pink—that goes with everything. How are you feeling? Any symptoms? Have you seen a doctor? Is everything all right? Oh, my goodness, this is going to be so much fun!”
Logan stared at Colton, confused as to why his brother was silent. Figuring his brother didn’t want another pregnant wolf taking up his time, Logan said, “Don’t worry Colton, I’ll hire a doctor to take care of my mate.”
Ian jabbed his mate, while snapping at him through their mind link. What the fuck is the matter with you? Can’t you congratulate your brother? If you won’t, I will.Jumping up, Ian went over to Kieran and hugged him. “Congrats, this is going to be fun! I never thought I’d have someone I could commiserate with. Do you have any cravings yet?”
“No, not yet. Do you?” Kieran said as he hugged Ian.
“Nope, but it’s still early for me.”
“Me, too.”
Watching his brother’s mate hugging his own, and seeing the hurt on Logan’s face, Colton knew he had to fix it. Walking over to Kieran, he waited until Ian let go, then leaned in and hugged Kieran. “Congratulations! I’m really very happy for you and my brother…stunned…but happy. You’ve made my brother’s dream come true, so thanks very, very much.”
Grinning, his vivid blue eyes dancing in merriment, Kieran leaned in to Colton and whispered, “Don’t worry about me, my spirit told me my pup is healthy and growing like a weed.”
Drawing back in astonishment, Colton asked, “Really? It can tell you all that?”
Nodding, Kieran giggled, then said, “If my spirit tells me there’s a problem, I promise I’ll let you know, so quit worrying.”
“I’ll try.”
Then, as Kieran was surrounded by other well-wishers, Colton turned and hugged his brother. “Congratulations, bro! You are going to be an amazing father.”
Logan returned the hug, whispering, “Are you all right?”
Shaking his head, Colton whispered back, “I don’t know. I’m sorry if I hurt you, I didn’t mean to. I’m just freaking out about everything and just when I think I finally have myself under control, another surprise hits and I’m knocked down again.” Colton stepped back, a wan smile on his face.
“You want to talk?”
Colton thought it over, then said, “Maybe. I think I need to share my feelings with Ian, first.”
“Good idea,” said Logan.
“Have you told Jackson yet?” asked Colton.
“No, but I will today when I talk to him about Fionn,” Logan said.
“Won’t he be surprised? I didn’t know Kieran was an Omega. I bet that was a surprise,” Colton teased.
“Sure was, but a pleasant one.”
Grinning, he punched Logan on the arm. “Welcome to the club, dad!”
Logan smirked. “I guess that goes for you too.” Then getting serious, Logan asked, “What are you going to do about those Scottish Wolf shifters? Are you and Ian planning on staying?”
