‘You’re awfully concerned about my sexual welfare, brother.’ I dart into the lift beside him.
‘I miss my drinking buddy,’ my brother admits, rolling back on his heels and shoving his fists into his pockets.
‘I’ll have a drink with you later, I promise.’ It’s Sunday, we’re due at Mam’s for dinner, anyway.
‘Wine at Sunday lunch doesn’t count.’ Richard rolls his eyes, but his voice is teasing. ‘Will Savannah be joining us again?’
‘I wish.’ It’s out of my mouth before I can stop it.
Richard’s hand darts out from his pocket and he clicks his fingers. ‘I knew it! I’m happy for you, man. Really, I am.’
And despite the banter, despite his teasing and the fact he’s often a pain in my ass, I know he means it.
‘Look, it’s very new. Nothing’s official, but we’ve been spending time together.’ God, it feels so fucking good to admit it out loud. And if her coming on my hand, my mouth, and my cock every day for the past few weeks isn’t making it official, then I don’t know what is.
‘Spending time together,’ Richard scoffs, using his fingers to air quote his words. ‘You’ve been balls deep in her for weeks. That’s why you don’t come out anymore.’
I could deny it, but my facial expressions give me away every time. ‘Unlike some of my previous conquests, I don’t kiss and tell. I’m trusting your discretion here. No one knows we’ve been “spending time together” and that’s the way it has to stay. For now, at least.’
‘Your secret is safe with me.’ Richard draws a cross over his heart as the lift launches upwards. That wicked glint flickers in his irises again. ‘Tell me this, though. Is it good?’
My muscle memory kicks in and my dick twitches in my shorts. ‘Fucking unbelievable.’
The lift doors open on his floor, and he lingers in the doorway for a second. ‘Fair fucks to you. You’ve been like a lost sheep since you retired. I’ve never seen you smile as wide since, well, ever really.’
‘Thanks. That means a lot.’
‘One more thing. Does she have a sister by any chance?’ He backs out of the lift, raising his arms as he shrugs.
‘Discretion, remember,’ I call after his retreating back as he swaggers down the wide corridor to his apartment.
‘My lips are sealed as tight as the zip on my trousers.’ He pretends to zip his lips close.
‘If that’s the case, we’re all fucked.’ I shake my head as the lift doors automatically close.
My apartment looks bare and cold compared to the organised chaos of Savannah’s house. I stride through the spacious hallway and into the chrome and black kitchen to make a protein shake, already counting the hours until I get to see Savannah again.
We’re meeting at the pool for a final lesson before the shoot next week. She’s not about to win any swimming competitions, but she’s confident enough to be able to movethrough the water using breaststroke and front crawl. It’s enough for the purpose.
Savannah getting offered the Coral Chic contract was the best thing that ever happened to both of us. If she hadn’t needed to learn how to swim, she’d still be shooting me filthy looks from the side of the pool each Saturday. The thought doesn’t bear thinking about.
When Savannah arrives at the pool, her long blonde hair is piled up on top of her head and she’s wearing that yellow bikini again.
The one I fucked her in on the day bed.
The one I pulled down to her ankles while I devoured her.
The one I fucking dream about every time I close my eyes.
On closer inspection, my girl looks harassed.
‘What’s up, baby?’ Do I normally hate baby as a term of endearment? Yes. Have I done a full one eighty on it, now I have Savannah? Also, yes.
‘Nothing. It’s fine. This morning ended up being a bit stressful, that’s all.’ She lowers herself into the shallow end.
‘What happened?’ I swim towards her, my hands automatically reaching for her waist. No matter how many times I touch her, it’s never enough.
‘I dropped the girls with my dads as planned, but they forgot to mention they have tickets to a matinee performance at the theatre later and I’m booked to make a guest appearance at a new wine bar on Grafton Street. The woman who’s opening it is a single mother. She specifically requested me because I’m Single Sav. It’s not like I can send anyone else in my place. I left a message for the next door neighbour to seeif Shona can come over, but she didn’t get back to me yet.’ She sighs, sinking her shoulders beneath the water.
