‘Move in with me,’ he whispers, clutching my hand like he never plans to let go.
‘Are you crazy? Did you bang your head as well as everything else? Or is the anaesthetic talking?’ I tease.
‘I don’t want to spend another night apart from you.’ The sincerity of his words are reflected in the silver glint of his iris.
‘You move in with me. More room for the kids.’ Many a true word is said in jest.
‘Ok.’ He concedes all too easily, exhausted eyes battling to remain open.
‘Sleep.’ I run my fingers through his silky hair. ‘I’ll be here when you wake.’
