Slinging my clothes into my suitcase, I tell her, ‘I’m nowhere near done.’
‘You are.’ There’s no malice in her words. No regret. She’s simply stating a fact. But her facts are wrong. Because when this tour kicks off, I’m going to take her in each of those eight cities. I don’t care how busy it is. I’ll make time. And she might fight me on it, but just like last night, she’s going to love every second.
‘The beauty of having sex repeatedly with the same partner is the uniquely gratifying intimacy that comes with familiarity of another person’s body. Knowing what they need. Knowing it’ll be delivered in the most delicious manner,’ I tell her.
Hooded eyes stare back at me and I’m ninety percent convinced she’s on board.
‘Start compiling that list of fantasies, Princess, because I’m going to tick off every single one of them.’
At some point, this thing will wear itself out. It has to.
The alternative is too terrifying to think about.
ChapterThirteen
CHLOE
It’s been eight manic weeks sourcing a magnitude of weird and wonderful props for Ryan’s farewell tour. Busy isn’t the word for it. It’s the biggest opportunity of my career and I’ve invested every ounce of energy into ensuring it will be as epic as I’ve promised.
Sadly, even that isn’t enough to prevent vivid, multicoloured mental images of Jayden and his exceptionally capable body from assaulting my mind multiple times daily. And don’t get me started on the nights.
Fantasies?
I have them in spades. Nothing too wild or kinky, but they’re enough to set my pulse racing and my panties wet.
There’s been no one since him.
Even if I wasn’t up to my eyeballs with work, how could anyone else compare?
No wonder he’s been walking around this earth with that smug expression on his face his entire life. He knew what he was carrying around in his pants. Hell, I’d be smug too.
‘You all set, Chloe?’ Ruby calls across the office.
Izzy flew out to Sydney four days earlier to get everything organised and Ruby’s staying here, much to her disdain, to manage the office and oversee our other events. Everyone’s gone home for the day, leaving us to lock up. Not that it’d matter if we didn’t. Dubai has a practically non-existent crime rate.
‘I’m all set for the tour.’ Nervous energy thrums through me as I rummage in my handbag, triple-checking I have my passport, purse, and phone. ‘What I’m not set for is Jayden Cooper.’
Obviously, I told Ruby everything. I couldn’t keep it from her if I wanted to. If my grinning face and sunken eyes didn’t give it away, the John Wayne walk definitely would have.
‘You aresogoing to have sex with him again.’ A scarlet talon pokes my arm as she passes by on her way to the watercooler.
‘Isoam not. Been there, done that.’ As the words fall from my lips, even I have to question the sincerity of them.
‘Aside from the fact I’m going to be busy working, my sister will be with me twenty-four seven. We’re rarely in the same country. We’ve got to make the most of it.’
‘Huh. You’re rarely in the same country as Jayden Cooper’s magnificent dick. If I were you, I’d be making the most of that instead. Priorities, my friend, priorities.’ Her tongue pops out theatrically as she makes what I think is supposed to be a cross-eyed “come face.”
‘Ruby, please, that face is seriously disturbing.’ I find a packet of mints in my bag, unwrap one, and pop it into my mouth.
‘There’s nothing disturbing about it. You should see the expression Brad pulls when he’s seconds from blowing his load. Seriously, they don’t call it “the vinegar stroke” for nothing.’ Her face rearranges into an expression even more disturbing than the first.
‘It wouldn’t be nearly as bad if I’d got there first,’ she snorts.
My hand flies to my eyes. ‘For fuck’s sake, Ruby! You know I’m normally all about the details, but there is such a thing as too much information.’
‘Trust me, there isn’t. It’s the most natural thing in the world. You know, I think Jayden was onto something,’ she muses.
My hand lowers as my head whips up. ‘Like what?’
