"Let me guess." Dominic runs his hand over his greying beard. "Ricardo."
I nod stiffly. "He's making a move to overthrow you. So far, he has John, Tony, and Vito on board."
"The old council." He pauses and asks, "What about the rest of them?"
"They claimed they didn't want to betray you."
"And yet none of them told me what was going on."
That's a fair point that I hadn't considered. In all my concern for Cora, I never actually stopped to think about how this might be impacting Dominic, only how I could benefit from the crossover in their shared enemy.
"Who was the mole?" Dominic asks me.
"Harry."
He grips the backrest of a chair, his fingers digging into the plush leather. "That explains why he's been unreachable."
"Apologies, sir. I should have told you sooner. I've been trying to neutralize the situation."
"Who hired you?" His dark eyes bore into me.
"Miller," I lie, although it's not entirely false; Miller really did hire me, just not for what I'm referring to.
"He really should have told me, too." Dominic rubs his hands together and turns his body toward mine.
I can no longer sense his reaction, although I'm certain it can go in either one of two directions. Going along with my involvement in things, or him ending my life.
Here's to hoping he chooses the former, not the latter.
"There's only one thing we can do." Dominic stares at me intensely.
I wait for him to continue.
"We have to kill them all."
"Sir?" I attempt to wrap my head around what he just said. "You mean John, Vito, Tony, and Ricardo?"
But Dominic simply shakes his head. "No. I mean all of them."
"How?" I ask the question that has been weighing heavily on my mind.
"I don't know, not yet. But we'll figure it out. Give me a couple of weeks to discuss this with Magnus and Coen. We'll relay the plan once we're sure."
I want to tell him that we can't wait two weeks. That the time is ticking on this entire situation, but if I did, I would be betraying Cora more than I already am.
But if I don't...what if we can't pull this off ourselves?

Iconvince Miller to let me visit London one more time that week without throwing a fit. I would have done it anyway, but I wanted him to know instead of being blind-sided again. We negotiated that he would accept it if I allowed Silver to escort me, which allowed Silver to grill London on some of her dad's dealings.
It was a win-win for all of us, even though London is still going through hell in the hospital.
Doctors say she will eventually heal fully but may have aches and pains that will live with her for the rest of her life. Not to mention, the impact on her mental health.
She says she's fine, that she just wants out of that cooped-up room, but I know better than to accept she isn't deeply bothered by what's happening.
