Cora breathes in, her shoulders rising before she exhales. "I'm afraid we can't. I mean, if you aren't willing to talk, she's the one who's going to have to pay."

It's fucked up, especially considering she's literally paying for her father's mistakes.

"I'll talk, I'll say whatever you want me to say, just please, don't hurt my daughter." Tears well in Harry's eyes, tears that weren't there a moment ago even when Silver was beating the shit out of him. "I'll talk. Where do you want me to start? What did I gain? He promised me a spot on his council. Told me he was going to take over Dominic's organization one shipment at a time."

Holy shit, it actually worked, Cora got this guy to talk without even inflicting any harm. Somehow, even despite fucking her face a minute ago, my cock throbs with desire at seeing her take charge like this, and the idea of bending her over that table of torture devices crosses my mind.

Miller lets out a laugh. "There's no fucking way."

"It-it's what he said. He's working on restructuring things, bringing it back to the old days." Harry coughs and blood speckles his lips.

"Who's he working with?" Silver asks him and throws his towel onto the ground.

Henry blinks a few times like he's trying to access the file in his mind of the names. "Uh, John, Tony, Vito, you know, the old-school mobsters. Ricky's longtime friends."

"What about Carlo, Dean, and Sam?" Miller asks Henry.

"They wanted nothing to do with it. Said they wouldn't betray Dominic."

"So, all these guys are aware of Ricardo going behind Dom's back to overthrow him?" Miller continues to question him.

"Yeah, Vito's son, Joe, he's the one who bought Ricky's daughter. Ricky gave him a vested part of the deal, some exclusive cut. I don't know all the details, I'm just the middleman." Henry pauses, his head swaying. "Don't hurt my daughter, please."

Cora looks to Miller. "You satisfied?"

Henry shifts his tone. "Fucking bitch, don't think I don't know who you are. Ricky's going to ruin you when he puts his fucking seed in you. I just wish I was there to watch it happen."

Rage, unlike anything I've ever felt, builds up inside of me. I find my feet moving my body, my gaze scanning until it finds what it's looking for. My fingers wrap around the hard surface, and I scrape it against the ground on my way over to the man who just said such vulgar things to my sweet, twisted girl.

I look to Silver, and he nods a sort of agreement before I turn my sights to Miller.

"Yeah, I'm satisfied," Miller says, a clear sign that things are done here.

"The fuck you think you're going to do with that, boy," Henry speaks to me.

"Step back." I nudge Cora out of the way and ready the baseball bat like I'm about to swing, but instead of aiming at a ball, I train the explosive blow on the side of his fucking face, caving it in with the first hit.

His skull collapses in easier than I thought it would, making me regret not hitting him less aggressively.

I wanted him to suffer, to understand that he would never get away with talking to her like that, but my swing had something else in mind.

Reeling back, I hit him again, and again, not satisfied with my torment until my ears ring and Cora's gentle hands are on my back.

"Alec," she says. "Alec. He's gone."

I stop, the sudden realization of what I've done causing the bat to fall out of my hands. It thuds once and then twice, landing near my shoes. Glancing down, my hands are covered in speckled blood, as are my forearms and most of the front of my body.

"Damn," Silver mutters. "You got him good."

"I..." I take a step back and nearly trip.

Miller reaches out to steady me."You good, dude?"

"Yeah, I..." I turn around to face Miller and Cora, unsure of how they're going to react to my outburst.

I should have never done what I just did. I should have stayed away like Miller had asked of us. I shouldn't have taken things into my own hands, and I never should have thought I could beat a man to death with a baseball bat and get away with it.
