Chapter Ten

Allie straddled Shankand slipped her hands under his shirt. She could feel his muscles tense, but he lay still as she ran her hands up until she brushed her fingertips across his hard nipples. He tilted his head back, his mouth slightly open. Allie hummed and pulled back, making sure to rest her weight right on his cock.

The tip of Shank’s tongue touched his top lip and then vanished. While Allie had seen Shank in every variation of sexually excited, she’d never seen him this flushed. Allie tugged at the bottom of his shirt.

“Do you want—”

“Take it off,” Allie said.

Shank grinned at her and pulled the shirt up and over his head. After he tossed it, he reached out and rested his hands against her hips.

She leaned over him, her hands braced on either side of his head. She put her lips right next to his ear and whispered, “Put your hands back behind your head.” She could feel him shiver, but he moved to obey. They’d played dynamic games in the past, but this didn’t feel like a game. Allie felt like she was trying to steer a ship through an impossibly small gap, to thread the space between a planet and a low-orbiting moon. She could feel the gravity wells and taste the danger like copper in her mouth. Adrenaline sharpened her senses and made her body ache in unfamiliar ways.

“Allie?” Shank asked. He sounded worried.

She rested a finger against his lips and then sat up to consider her options. He lay under her, his arms still tucked under his head, and she studied the beautiful line of his shoulder and the curving biceps. She let herself feast on the sight of sleek muscle and dark skin. She caressed a puckered birthmark below his right nipple and a thin line of scar on his side. When she paused and pressed her fingers into that barely visible mark, Shank laughed.

“My little brother and I were playing swords, and the scrap metal we were using was sharper than we thought.”

“I guess I’m happy I don’t have any siblings. I totally avoided getting gutted by a little brother.”

Shank shifted under her and then settled. “They have their advantages. When I broke something, I could always blame it on Chet.”

“Hmm.” She tightened her knees around him and let her palm rest against his bare chest. He watched her, and she took a deep breath as she felt the weight of his need settle around her. She wanted to get this right. Never had she felt so much pressure to get it right.

She ran her fingernails lightly over his skin, watching four white trails slowly turn pink and then vanish. Shank breathed a little faster.

“Do you like that?” She already knew the answer, but she wanted to hear his voice.

“As long as it doesn’t actually hurt, yeah,” Shank agreed. He shifted again, lifting Allie up an inch as he repositioned himself. She could feel his cock pressing up into her.

“Problem?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Just encouraging you,” he admitted. He gave another tiny thrust up into her. Normally Allie would have been more than happy to move onto the main event, but she wanted to play. She was almost sure he felt the same.

“I wonder if I could find anything to tie your legs,” she mused.

Shank swallowed, but he didn’t object.

Allie closed her eyes and tried to gather her thoughts, most of which had just scattered to the edges of the universe. “Oh, I am so wet right now,” she confessed.

“Then let me help you out.” Shank’s voice was low and a little gravelly, and that was definitely making Allie even more desperate. Something had so drastically shifted in her world that she couldn’t understand her own body.

“I’m not ready yet,” she said. She watched for any sign of frustration. He closed his eyes, and while he did seem frustrated, he was also arching his back, and his skin was slick with sweat. “What would you think if I kept you frustrated for a while?”

Shank sucked air through his teeth. “It’s hard if I have to control myself.” Having said that, he pressed his lips together. Allie leaned forward and rested her hands on his forearms, using her weight to pin him. Immediately she could see the tension fade.

This was definitely not a game.

“Would it be easier if I tied you?”
