“Well, don’t you two clean up nice,” Donovan said with a wide smile.
“Look better than you,” Alexei said.
Trevor ran a hand down his Marine Corps evening dress uniform and shook his head. “Since you’re the groom in tonight’s festivities, we’ll let that traitorous opinion slide.”
Alexei laughed. “Is good. Know I win best-looking.”
“You wish. Jamie’s in uniform tonight.”
“For which I’m very, very happy about,” Kyle said with a smug smile.
“On that note, let’s get your family to their seats,” Donovan said. “You know where to meet Sean?”
Alexei nodded. They’d all gone through the rehearsal last night, and Alexei went to find his soon-to-be husband after hugging his family one more time. The ceremony itself was happening in the pavilion, overlooking the harbor. Alexei was supposed to meet Sean in a side room down the hall.
Sean wasn’t alone when Alexei arrived in the study, but he only had eyes for his lover. Sean looked away from his father, brown eyes giving Alexei a full head-to-toe once-over before he broke out in a blinding grin that made Alexei’s stomach swoop low in his gut.
Sean looked spectacular in the dark gray, bespoke three-piece suit he had picked out for their wedding, the color matching parts of Alexei’s uniform. His Oxford wingtips were shined to perfection, and his hair was styled in an artfully tousled way that Alexei wanted to mess up even more, preferably while getting Sean out of his suit.
“I suppose I should head on out and prepare to receive you,” Greg Delaney said with a faint smile on his face as he glanced between them.
“Sure, Dad,” Sean said, not taking his eyes off Alexei.
Sean’s father was a United States District Court judge and the officiant of their ceremony. Neither Sean nor Alexei were religious, but they’d wanted their wedding to be a family affair, and judges all had full authority to oversee weddings. Greg had been honored to accept, and whatever friction he and Sean had experienced over the years had fallen by the wayside.
Sean’s relationship with his family was better than it had been since he was a teenager, and Alexei was glad for it. Alexei appreciated the efforts the Delaneys had put forth into accepting him into their family. Sean’s parents were a bit more reserved than his own, but that didn’t mean they didn’t love their son any less, and by extension, care for Alexei.
“I’ll see you both at the end of the aisle,” Greg said.
He gave Sean a hug, the robes of his office shifting around them both through the embrace. When they parted, Greg smiled at Sean before heading for the door. Alexei stepped aside to let the older man pass, but Greg paused on his way out to give Alexei a handshake and a proud smile.
“Welcome to the family, son.”
“Glad to be part,” Alexei replied, his gaze sliding over to Sean.
Greg left, the old-fashioned door closing behind him on well-oiled hinges. The estate had an elegant, old-world charm to it, which was one of the many reasons they’d chosen it. That, and the security options had been extensive.
“You look…” Sean said, his voice trailing off as he gave Alexei another once-over.
Alexei smirked, well aware of what he looked like in uniform. He closed the distance between them, putting a bit of swagger into his walk, pleased at the faint flush that spread over Sean’s cheeks.
“You like?”
“I always like you.”
Alexei crowded him up against the synthwood desk, framing Sean’s face with both hands to better guide him into the kiss. It was slow and deep, and Alexei took his time tasting Sean with a thoroughness that left them both gasping when they finally broke apart.
“Could be late?” Alexei murmured, pressing a kiss to the corner of Sean’s mouth even as he teasingly dragged his thigh up between Sean’s legs, against his cock.
“I’d never be able to look my family in the eye if we were.” Sean swallowed audibly, letting out a weak laugh as he shoved Alexei backward. “Bothmy families. Knowing our luck, Kyle would come looking for us to see what was taking so long.”
Alexei let out a long sigh. “Fine. Is fine. We stick to schedule.”
Sean rose up on the balls of his feet to brush his lips over Alexei’s. “You agreed to this schedule. We can have sex anytime. We only get one chance to be married, and I amnotmissing out on that.”
“Could marry twice?”
Sean leaned back and narrowed his eyes. “Divorce is not an option, Lyosha.”
