Finally pulling back, Trevor slid out of Brendan, helping him straighten out his legs. Trevor stroked a comforting hand over Brendan’s twitching stomach before getting off the bed. “I’ll be right back.”
He walked into the bathroom to get a washcloth, getting it wet in the sink. He brought it back with him to wipe Brendan clean, then himself, before pulling the other man into his arms under the blankets. Trevor held him close, stroking a hand down Brendan’s back.
“If you cook like you fuck, I’m keeping you forever,” Brendan mumbled.
Trevor chuckled and kissed him on the top of the head. “Okay.”

Warm lips brushedover Brendan’s forehead and he cracked open his eyes. Trevor sat on the bed beside him, already dressed in jeans and a button-down with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
“Morning,” Brendan mumbled. “Why are you dressed?”
Trevor smiled. “As much as I would’ve liked to have woken up with you this morning, I had a couple of calls to make.”
Brendan’s sleepiness washed away in the cold light of morning and heavy memory. The initial surge of panic made him stiffen, but Trevor’s hand settling on his shoulder made him relax.
“Any news?”
“Some. I need to leave in a bit.” Trevor paused, glancing over at the closed bedroom door. “Your family is here.”
Brendan flailed to a sitting position. “What?”
“They wanted to know where you had gone after the attack since you weren’t in any hospital. They wouldn’t take no for an answer from the agents handling the crime scene, so the MDF got me in touch with them.”
Brendan groaned and dropped his head into his hands. “Shit. I forgot to call them.”
“Well, in your defense, we were a little busy last night.”
Heat prickled Brendan’s skin as he remembered last night’s multiple rounds of sex. Not like his ass would let him forget, considering the twinge of soreness he could feel now that he was sitting up.
Lifting his head, Brendan grimaced. “I guess I should go face the music.”
Trevor leaned forward and kissed him, slow and sweet, despite Brendan’s morning breath. “You’re staying here, in my apartment, until this all blows over. Katie packed you a go-bag that will be delivered later. Until then, I have some clothes you can wear.”
“Have you seen your shoulders? I won’t fit your clothes.”
Trevor smirked, his eyes darkening. “I bet you’d still look good in them.”
Brendan manfully ignored the way his cock twitched beneath the sheets. As much as he’d like to pull Trevor back into bed with him, he needed to talk to his parents and brothers.
But first, he needed to shower.
Trevor left him to get ready, off to play host to his family. Brendan didn’t take his time in the huge, walk-in shower with its multiple shower heads. He thought he deserved a prize for that. After a quick wash, he got out and wrapped the towel around his waist. He borrowed Trevor’s toothbrush to brush his teeth before heading back to the bedroom to find some clothes.
At some point that morning, Trevor had picked up their mess from last night. Brendan didn’t know what had happened to his clothes, but Trevor had apparently laid out some new ones for him. The sleeping pants and worn-soft T-shirt with faded USMC lettering felt far more comfortable than the scratchy clothes the MDF had given him. The only thing that hadn’t gotten lost was his underwear.
Brendan pulled on the clothes and ran a hand nervously through his damp hair before leaving the bedroom. Voices drew him down the hallway to the open area of the luxury apartment. Brendan found his parents and brothers seated on the couch and armchairs in the living room area, mugs in hand as they talked amongst themselves. Brendan didn’t see Trevor, but searching for him would have to wait once his mom caught sight of him.
“Brendan,” Jennifer exclaimed as she stood to pull him into her arms.
After that, it was a free-for-all of hugs and voices talking rapidly over each other. His family had always been loud and boisterous, and the noise soothed Brendan in a way.
“I’m okay, Ma,” Brendan said after the fifth time his mother grabbed him into a tight hug. “Really. Trevor saved me in time before anything worse could happen.”
