“I mean, I believe that she's pregnant. I saw it with my own eyes. But as far as me knowing the paternity of the child? We'll just have to see when it's born.”
My sister nodded her head. “And if it is yours, what are you going to do?”
“I'm going to be there for my kid,” I responded.
Again, she nodded her head. “That's all you can do. Don't let her get in your head, and don't let her try to control this situation. I think she has done enough. She should be lucky she's pregnant or I'd be beating her ass right now.”
I laughed at how serious she was. “Don't I know.”
“Nope. Because if you knew this we wouldn't be here, you wouldn't think that you were the father of a baby you didn't know about weeks ago. I told you to leave her trifling ass alone when she first left you for no reason.” She was right.
“I hear you, man. Don't get to preaching in here.”
She busted up laughing. “No need for me to preach, because had you listened to me at first, we wouldn't be here. You know Ray is manipulative and she will go to great lengths to get what she wants where you are concerned. You should have let me beat her ass six months ago.”
I couldn't help but join in on the laughter because Ommy could hold a grudge forever. I mean, she really didn't let things go. She would obsess over it, think about it, and then obsess over it all over again. “Alright I hear you.”
“I’m glad.”
“You should be,” I replied smugly.
“I have a question.”
I nodded for her to continue.
“Say you’re seeing somebody, and you want to take things to the next level, what do you sa?—”
“The fuck you mean what do you say? You out here messing with some nigga who isn’t trying to claim you? Who the fuck is he?”
“No, Knoxx. I’m asking for something else.” Her eyes did that shifty thing they did when she was lying.
“Omyia”
“Knoxx.”
“Yeah okay, let me find out,” I warned. I spent a few more hours kicking it with her before I went about my day. I didn’t have anything to do, but I was going to look at these rental properties that I wanted to invest in. I was fucking a real estate agent. Shorty was good to keep around because she’d informed me that now was the perfect time to be investing in the market. It was the bitches like her that I’d forever keep around. They came with less needs and more advantages. We had a nice ass business relationship with many physical aspects.
I was about to pull out of the park when I looked up and spotted Luna’s fine ass walking up the street. I didn’t look at her for too long because I had already told myself that I was gonna leave shorty alone. I couldn’t do that hot-cold shit. Though I was feeling her I didn’t have time for that shit.
Chapter Eight
“Niggas be lurking and praying an egg head nigga like yourself gets it wrong.”

With the cup in my hand, I watched Kasey and Aura roll while the smoochies flocked. I kept my nose clean, because I wanted to go in the house and get my dick sucked. Last time she saw me on one of those ho’s snaps and refused to gimme head for days. It wasn’t like I was smiling and posing, the bitch caught me off guard on some sneaky shit. Surah wasn’t going for that though, and it made me want her even more. She didn’t nut up or threaten to fight a bitch, she took that shit out on me as she should’ve. Even though it was a picture I got what she was saying, and next time I promised to knock a bitches phone out of her hand before she could snap it. She agreed to that shit too and that’s what made us so fucking ridiculous. Ever since we made this thing between us official, we’ve been locked in. I always pictured this relationship shitboring and annoying, but it was the opposite. Though we were just getting started Surah and I couldn’t have been doing better.
“You still make yo’ own decisions or does your wife tell you what you can do?” Kasey stood up straight and looked over at me.
I gave him a fuck outta here look before shaking my head. “Fuck you talking about, Kasey?”
“You know niggas ain’t really seen you around. You pop in and out like a nigga tryna keep a good home.”
Aura laughed and so did I.
“The fuck is so funny? I know it’s getting cold, but neither of you niggas be down to hang no more. Niggas took that cuffing season shit and ran with it.”
