Even tonight, sitting at the table with my niggas, drinking, talking, playing cards, listening to music and shit, I felt alone. Felt like I didn't belong. Because realistically, I didn't. I didn’t fuck with these niggas for real like that. I wasn’t an outside nigga. I was a sometimey, pop up every now and then type nigga. I was a family man. I stayed my ass at the crib. This wasn’t me, but I couldn’t spend another moment in that hotel room alone.

“Why don’t you ever let me take care of you, Duke?” Tali asked.

I cut my eyes at her. “I don’t need you to take care of me, Tali. Fuck you talkin about?”

She crossed her leg over the other and propped her elbow up on the back of the couch, resting her head on her balled fist, looking at me. “Not like that. I’m sayin… every time I try to help you, you turn me down. Why?”

I didn't say anything. I groaned and bit into the wing, dropping it on my chest right after. She giggled, reached over and picked it up. Putting it up to my mouth she said, “See? I got you. Here. Open up.”

Like a dumb ass, I listened. Opened my mouth and let her feed me. Not because I wanted her to but because I couldn’t help myself. I was drunk as hell and delusional, for real. A second later, she did it again. Before I knew it, she was dead ass feeding me and to be real, I was enjoying it.

“Here,” she said, with a forkful of chili fries to my mouth. I took the fork in, and I swear I heard her moan a little. “You be acting so funny.”

“No, I don’t,” I said, dodging the fork this time, putting my hand up. “I’m cool.”

She sucked her teeth. “See? I’m just trying to… feed you. Why won't you let me feed you, Ducati?”

I laughed and turned to look at her. “Man, type of shit you on?”

She giggled. “I’m not on nothing. Damn. Just looking out for my friend. You so funny acting, bro.”

“How am I funny acting, Talia?”

“You don’t be paying me no attention… and you be short as hell with me. Like I did something to you.” She tossed her leg over my lap and moved closer. “I just?—

I moved her leg. “You trippin.”

“No, I’m not,” she said, tossing her leg back over my lap. She caressed my beard and leaned in. “You know I’ve been wanting you for a long ass time, right? You so fuckin… man you so fuckin fine.”

I ran my tongue over my bottom lip and pushed her leg off of me. “Chill.”

“Why I gotta chill?”

“Because I’m married,” I said, moving my head away from her so she would stop stroking my beard.

She sucked her teeth. “You staying at a hotel... can’t betoomarried.”

She had a point but that didn’t cancel out the fact that I was married, and I didn’t want to fuck with her. Wouldn’t fuck with Talia if I was divorced. I was dead ass serious when I said I wasn’t fucking with anybody in our circle. I didn’t give a fuck about nothing else. She might’ve smelled good, looked good, and even felt good but I wasn’t bulging.

Regardless of how I was denying her, she leaned in again, putting her face against the side of my neck. “And you smell good. You always smell good.”

I leaned to the other side, sucking my teeth. “You gotta chilllll.”

“Why?” She asked, running her hand up my leg, heading for my dick.

Before she could touch it, I grabbed her hand, stopping her. “Tali.”

“What Duke? Damn. You want to leave? Ain’t nobody gotta know. I can take you back to the room and?—

“You wylin,” I interrupted. “I just told you I was married.”

She sucked her teeth. “Then why you ain’t at home, Duke? Hm? You talking about you gotta go back to the room and shit. You not going home. Mahogany put you out and you over heredrinking your sorrows away. I can make you forget all about that shit. I promise I can.”

She was tweaking for real. Talia had always been flirtatious with me but in a cute way. Never in a direct, I’m trying to fuck way. It was subtle. She had never been as bold. I blamed it on the liq’. She might not had been as drunk as me, but she was drunk and on some other shit. I couldn’t lie though, her minty breath against the side of my neck and her smooth hands running up my leg did feel good. I couldn’t remember the last time Mahogany rubbed on me. Couldn’t remember the last time she desired a nigga neither. It’d been a nice ass minute, so when Talia kissed the side of my neck, my dick bricked. Instantly.

I sighed and shook my head. “I need you to chill.”

“Tell me why. Give me a reason other than you being so called married. I don’t give a fuck about that, and you shouldn’t neither. Especially not sleepin at no fuckin’ hotel.”
