Liam:Have the best day, beautiful. ??

Ireread Liam’s text message again with what I am sure is a big, sappy grin covering my face. I can’t seem to help myself. This is my life now, and I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve never been happier. It’s been a week, and he’s spent every night at my place. Not just the nights either. Every morning and evening as well. It’s everything I’ve wanted in a relationship and more. The only surprising thing about it is how easily we’ve slipped into a comfortable rhythm together. From cooking together to our morning routine. Everything’s just fallen into place like we’ve been doing this for years and not days. Sure, some of it is how long we’ve known each other. There’s a familiarity because of that, but it’s something else too. It’s hard to pin it down, but I’m not going to complain about things going well. It’s a first for me in the relationship department, so I’m going to take my win and run with it.

Today was the last day of pre-season training. Since they don’t have the usual afternoon scrimmage today, Liam’s stopping by for my kids’ class this afternoon. I can’t wait to see their faces when I introduce him. He’s even bringing some team swag to give the kids. I’m not sure I can tell who’s more excited–me or him. This is what I mean when I say he just knows. It was all his idea. Dating someone who understands how important this class is to me and who supports me without feeling threatened feels amazing. Well, I think we’re dating. I should probably ask him about that soon. I’m feeling pretty sure of the answer. Liam’s never been a player, not like my brother. So, I’m confident that we’re exclusive at the very least. It’s not like he’s had time to be with anyone else since we’ve spent every waking hour together.

The studio phone line rings, and I realize I’ve been sitting here daydreaming for most of my lunch break. I answer, pulling my attention back to business.

“Bending Willow Studio. Madison speaking.”

“Madison, hello. It’s Joslyn. How are you doing today?”

“Hey Jos! Today’s going well. Thanks. What’s up with you?”

“Damon and I were so happy with your pre-season classes, we wanted to extend them throughout the season. The schedule will be much different, of course, and we won’t have them when the team in traveling. We can work out all the details, I’m sure. What do you think? Is that something you’d be interested in?” Holy shit! Of course I’m interested.

“I’d love to continue, Jos. Wow. Thanks! I wasn’t sure if the guys were really into it.”

“We’ve actually had several inquiries about continuing your class. The goalie’s have been particularly vocal.” I can hear the smile in her voice at that last bit of news.

“I love that!” I tell her. “It’s really so good at preventing injuries, so I understand. It’s so nice to know it’s been a positive addition.”

“So, it’s okay for me to add it to the schedule? I’m thinking the same time would work, in the morning before on ice practice. I can send you a copy once we work through the first few months, but maybe plan on classes next week on days with scheduled practices.”

“No problem. I’ll get it all set up.”

“Great. I’ll shoot you a new contract with rates and all the financial stuff. Just give me a shout if you have questions.”

We say our goodbyes and hang up.

I have to sit here for a few minutes because I can’t believe that this is actually happening to me. Not only did I make a difference, but they actually requested that I come back! It’s going to take a minute for that to penetrate.

Ace, who up until now had been dozing on his dog bed in the corner of my very tiny office, let out a short, excited bark before trotting over to the door behind me with his tail wagging a mile a minute. I smile because I don’t even have to guess who’s here to see me.

Strong muscular arms sweep around me, and I feel a light kiss on the top of my head. The earthy pine tree smell of Liam’s cologne brings a smile to my lips as nuzzles into the crook of my neck.

“Hey there, Mad girl. Guess who got out of practice a little early today?” His husky voice vibrates next to my ear, lighting me up like it always does when he does that. He seriously has the sexiest voice, better than any audiobook narrator I’ve heard.

“I can’t imagine who that might be.” I tease. “Who do I know that plays hockey. Hmm can’t think when you do that.” I say as he does this thing with his tongue and lips next to my ear. God, I love that. It gets me hot every damn time he does it.

“Hmm sorry... busy.” He mumbles as he trails kisses down my neck and over my collarbone. I can’t seem to help the moan escapes my lips.

“I love the noises you make when I do that. Gets me so hard.” He tells me as switches sides to do it all over again.

“Door.” Is all I can manage to get out before I let go with another needy moan.

He chuckles at the sound, and I can feel his smirk against the skin of my neck.

“Got it.” He’s gone, and back before I get a chance to recover. Turning me around and pulling me up into his arms for a kiss. I melt into him, like I always do when he kisses me, because I lose myself and it takes all my focus.

“I could kiss you all day. All the time, Mads. Every second.”

“Not sure we’d get anything done.” I tell him, breathless and panting.

“Who cares?” he murmurs against my cheek before diving into my mouth again.

“Not me.” I manage to say before his kiss pulls me under again.
