It wasn’t just her anxiety that amped up, fight or flight rode on the coattails of it, and in this case, the fight was dominating.

“Fucking machine!” Beyond frustrated, Hailey dug behind the machine to find the power cord and yank it from the wall. She’d had enough of everything to do with the job and self-regulating and good food. Hal had come home and made her dinner every night this week. But not tonight, she was determined to inhale a greasy pizza and binge watch the new season of Ginny and Georgia on Netflix.

She was on her knees gathering up the paper that covered every inch of the copier room when she heard a chuckle.

“Who won? You or the copier?”

“I should think it obvious by the mess. The copier is the victor.” Hailey spoke in a snarky tone as she sat back on her heels, glaring up at Hal from her position on the floor. “This is all your fault. If you hadn’t sent me in here with only ten minutes to go, I’d be on my way home for pizza!”

“Careful, I’m your daddy and your boss. Do you really want to run your mouth off now and earn a spanking, when you almost got through your first week without a single punishment?”

Hailey’s eyes narrowed. “It’s not my fault. It’s the stupid printer’s fault.” She rolled her eyes. “Seriously, invest in better equipment or at least post instructions for the newbies. I mean, look at the size of this thing. It’s crazy to not have instructions. Stupid crazy!” Hailey’s voice had been steadily rising in volumeand she wondered if anyone still in the offices could hear her ranting at her boss.

Hal locked the door and strode over to Hailey. “Stay exactly as you are, Ms. Carberry.” Now she’d done it. Hal worked her tight pencil skirt up her thighs and tugged it over her ass. She was angry, although not at him. And not just anger flowed through her, excitement raced down her spine, sending waves through her lower belly.

Hal pulled Hailey’s lacy thong down her thighs until they pooled at her knees. A moment later, she heard the slithering sound of a belt being released from the loops that normally hold it in place.

She peaked over her shoulder to see Hal folding the leather in half with the buckle tucked inside his palm. He made a spinning motion with his finger, and Hailey turned her head and kept her gaze on the floor.

“You will count your strokes, Hailey.”

“Yes, Daddy. How many?”

“Until I’ve decided you have learned your lesson.”

Hailey heard a zing before she felt a line of fire across the center of her ass. This was nothing like the ruler, the only implement she’d been spanked with to compare the line of fire with. The heat and the sting were way worse than the thunk, swats from the wood her daddy kept in his desk drawer delivered.

Hailey was howling after five strokes. Five more and she was promising Hal anything he wanted. After ten later, Hailey was a blubbering mess. By the time he finished, Hailey was sure her ass was on fire.

Hal helped her to stand, tugging her clothing into place. The material against her hot skin was unbearable. Hailey dropped to her knees in a pool of tears. “It hurts! I can’t wear clothing home, please, may I take them off?”

A glimmer of amusement appeared on Hal’s face before he blanketed his expression. “This is part of your punishment young lady. Be good all the way home and I will reward you.”

Hailey considered his words and was about to asked what type of reward when Hal spoke her thoughts aloud.

“Don’t ask what type of reward Hailey or you won’t get one.”

If she’d been standing, she might have gotten herself into trouble by stamping her foot.

“Now, before I bend you over the copier and fuck you silly, let’s go get that pizza and binge-watch Netflix. I heard the new season of Ginny and Georgia is out.”

“Who are you,” Hailey asked wide-eyed, “and what Jedi mind trick is this?”

Hal burst out laughed. Come on funny girl. I already ordered the pizza, and we can pick it up on our way home.”

Hal helped Hailey to her feet and tugged her tight skirt into place once more. On the ride down to the carpark, two things Hal said played over in a loop in her head. How did he know about her Friday night pizza and Netflix fetish? More importantly, he’d said home. Did he consider them living together, or her home as his? She hadn’t been to his place yet. Hal said that she had enough adjustments for one week without adding in a date at his place. She was quiet on the car ride, replaying her first week at Firm Hand Accounting as a junior assistant to the owner, Halstrom Lewis.

Hal had not slept over once during the work week. He would tuck her in by 9:00 pm and unlike that first night when she tossed and turned looking like a raccoon the next day, Hailey had slept like a baby.

Hal had come early to ensure she was awake, bringing breakfast with him and driving her to work. The first two nights, she hadn’t woken until Hal arrived, but day three, four and five, she was ready to go when he arrived.

As she mulled over these facts, Hailey realized that Hal, had been the best thing that ever happened to her. He’d in fact, been incredible and was the one deserving of a treat. The corner of Hailey’s mouth quirked up in a crooked grin. She would show him tonight after pizza how appreciative she was. Plan now decided, Hailey turned to Hal.

“I was wondering, what is your favorite Netflix show?”

Hal’s blank expression told Hailey something she had overlooked with him. Her knight in shining armor didn’t watch Netflix or probably anything.

“What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?”
