He’s gentler than I ever expected, a calm wave of satisfaction spreading between us. “I love you,” I say breathlessly, raking my fingers through his hair with my free hand and wrapping my legs around his waist, locking my feet together.

“Don’t ever stop loving me.”

“I will always love you.” I soothe him calmly, making his eyes soften at the edges. “No matter what.”

“We’re good together.”

“We’re great together.” And I want sex every day if it’s like this all the time. I was crazy to think we wouldn’t be compatible.

A sense of relief and euphoria fills me to the brim as I enjoy the closeness and intimacy we’ve been sidestepping for far too long.

“I… I need to ask you something.” He looks worried, brows dipping, his voice tentative.

“Okay.” I need to stay calm and not freak out because he sounds so serious.

He inhales a deep breath before speaking. “Move in with me. I don’t want to waste another minute of my life without you in it.”

Startled for a moment because I’m unsure I heard him right, I ask, “Say that again?”

Blinking rapidly, he repeats, “Move in with me. Here.”

“You’re joking?” Everything is happening so fast.

He shakes his head, his expression more thoughtful than I’m used to. “I want you here under my roof, in my bed, having dinner together, and spending every day, night, and weekend together. I want it all.”

“We already spend our spare time together,” I state bluntly. If I move in with him, it’s a big step.

“Then, nothing changes other than the fact that your stuff will be here. And we get to fuck. Whenever we want.”

That makes me chuckle, and he flinches when my walls squeeze his cock. “Fuck, that’s nice.”

“Focus.” He might not want me to move in when I tell him, “I was thinking about getting another dog.” I miss my old four-legged friend, Oscar.

“Then we’ll get a dog. Two.”

“You’ve lost your mind, Leon.” I shake my head, messing up my hair probably more than it already is.

“You’re right, I am crazy. Crazy for you.” I know he’s being authentic. “When we are on vacation, think about it,” he says confidently, running his nose down mine. “No pressure.”

“Okay.” I nod, knowing the only thing holding me back is the commute to and from work. It’s an extra half hour each way. Butif he’s serious, we’ll probably end up living together eventually anyway.

I’ll do as he asks and think about it properly.

Although I feel like I’m already living here.

Leon kisses me deeply and with such passion, stealing the breath from my lungs and pouring love through his skin into mine. In this moment, I feel limitless, like I could take on the world and climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

I don’t know what I was so worried about. There was never any risk. It was all in our heads. After tonight, I know he’s the one I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.

And just as he promised, all night, in front of the fire, he makes love to me slowly, making me climax harder than I ever thought possible.

Eventually, in the early hours of the morning, we fall asleep on the rug, just as the sun rises to say hello, both knowing things will never be the same again.
