I move in and out slowly, emptying myself completely, escorting her down from her high.
She looks at me over her shoulder.
“I love you,” she whispers. “But that was not making love, Leon.”
“Well, shit, I guess I’ll have to try again.”
Her eyes sparkle with amusement. “I think that was always your plan.”
It was. “We just consummated the marriage.”
“A marriage I don’t remember,” she replies. “I can’t even remember if we said vows.”
I remove myself from her body and urge her to turn to face me.
I go all in. “I, Leon James Hill, do take you, Erika Sarah Johansson, to be my lawful wedded wife. I vow to be your light in the dark, bring joy to your days, and I promise to support your dreams, laugh with you, and love you endlessly.”
Erika’s whole face lights up like the Fourth of July, then she leans in, wrapping her arms around my neck and gazing deep into my soul. “I, Erika Sarah Johansson, vow to be your safe harbor in every storm. I promise to love you and cherish every sunset and sunrise, every quiet moment, every hectic day, and I swear to stick with you through every adventure. Today, now, always, and for the rest of our lives, I will always love you.”
When she kisses me, I know we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be. Together.
CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE
Erika
Sitting back in the dining chair, I wait for Leon to return from the restroom.
For the last twelve days, we’ve talked, laughed, eaten, slept, read, talked some more, and made love more times than I have fingers and toes. The man’s insatiable.
An insatiable man with a magical pierced dick that I’m completely obsessed with because he can make me come in record time. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on the best sex of my life all these years.
I’m making up for it now, and this honeymoon is better than I could ever have imagined. Being here with Leon is like something out of a dream. From the sun, the sea to the sex, it’s all fabulous, and if I didn’t love my job so much, I might suggest that we move here permanently.
I applaud the steel drum band as they finish playing before starting another song, enhancing the warm tropical atmosphere around the bar where Leon and I have been sipping cocktails since we finished dinner.
“Red suits you.” Leon rejoins me, planting a kiss on my exposed shoulder that looks like it’s also been kissed by the sun. Leon told me I was glowing earlier. I feel like I am.
I look down at the plunging neckline of my red dress, which is a little risky and sits just above my belly button.
“Thank you.” I drop my voice. “But I think I’m showing a bit too much side boob.”
“You can never show off enough side boob. It’s like bonus boob. I’ve always thought that.”
“Bonus boob? What the hell is that?” I scoff, genuinely intrigued.
“What you have right… here.” Leon brushes the back of his fingers over the exposed globed edge of my breast, causing goosebumps to erupt over my skin. “It’s like a temptation, or cheeky opportunity. Erika’s side boob…” He paints an invisible rainbow in front of him with his hands, “driving Leon’s dick wild since he was old enough to know he loved her.” Dramatically, he hams up a long sigh as he stares into the night sky with hearts in his eyes.
“You’re ridiculous.” I gesture to his pink, purple, and green cocktail that looks like something a unicorn would throw up.
“Ridiculously in love.” He winks, then drinks the last of his cocktail through the tiniest straw I’ve ever seen. He’s had too much to drink, and it’s making him giddy and goofy, reminding me of what he used to be like when he was in his twenties.
“We’repathetic.”
“Pathetically in love?” he asks with a boyish charm.
“That too,” I agree, snorting, which is unladylike of me.
Leon drums his fingers against the tabletop to the beat of the steel drums. The rhythm is slow and mellow and feels slightly enchanting.
