“I think that might be something someone big and strong like you should go handle,” Oakley says in a breathy voice.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.I hate when non-club members show up here. They always start crap and I need to deal with it.”Storm runs a rough hand through his hair and shakes his head.
“I don’t think you’ll need to handle it,” I mumble as Roxy leaps over the bar with a baseball bat in her hands.
“Not in my bar!Take it outside! Now!”She swings it over her shoulders as she approaches the men.
They ignore her and the other guy goes to throw a punch. Before he can, she swings the bat right at the back of his knees and he crumples to the ground, screaming in agony.
“I said take it outside!”She moves the bat to the other hand and does the same thing to the other man.
One of them reaches for Roxy’s ankle and wraps his large hand around her.He tries to tug her down to the ground, but Chopper steps up to them and plants his huge boot on the man’s forearm. He applies more and more pressure until the man releases Roxy’s leg.
She doesn’t miss a beat. She lifts her heeled boot and rams it into the man’s stomach. He lets out a loud yelp and rolls into the fetal position.Chopper grabs both strangers by their collars and drags them outside, one in each hand.
Roxy smooths down her shirt and turns in a circle, glaring at everyone in the bar who isn't part of the club.
“Anyone else want to start crap in my bar?”She spreads her arms wide, with the bat dangling from one hand.
A round ofNo’sis heard through the place. She nods her head and turns towards the bar.She places a foot on one of the stools and stands on it.She tries to put her other foot on the bar, but Chopper wraps his arms around her waist and places her on the bar so she’s seated, facing him.
“What are you doing, Chopper?”Roxy rolls her eyes as she leans back on her hands, letting the bat fall to the ground behind the bar.
“I want to check your ankle,” he grunts, lifting her leg and placing her heeled boot on his chest.
He slowly pushes her dark jeans up her ankle and runs his fingers over her red skin.He shakes his head and clenches his jaw.He looks like he’s seconds away from killing those guys.
“I'm fine, Chop.Don’t worry about me.”Roxy pushes her pant leg back down and spins on the slick bar.She hops down behind the wood and grabs a beer. After she pops the top, she slides it over to him.“Thank you for getting them out of here.”
“Are you sure he didn’t hurt you?”Chopper’s concerned gaze stays on my sister.
“I'm positive.Go enjoy the rest of your night.”She quickly waves him off.
“Man, I wish someone looked at me the way Chopper looks at Roxy,” I sigh, resting my chin in my hand.
“I know, right! She’s stupid for ignoring him.”Oakley mirrors my position as we watch Chopper take a seat at the bar. He’s not leaving there the rest of the night.
“You know they can't date.Club rules,” Storm says in a gruff voice.
“Love makes men do stupid things, Stormy.”Oakley slips out of the booth and pats him on the chest as she goes.
“Stop calling me Stormy, Oakley!”He calls after her retreating back. She flips him off over her shoulder and keeps walking right out the door.
Chapter 2
Storm
“Ifyoustopactinglike it annoys you, she’ll stop calling you Stormy,” Dixie mumbles as she takes another sip of her beer.“She just likes to torment you.”
“Why?Does she have a crush on me?”I smirk as Dixie chokes on her beer. She shakes her head as she grabs a napkin and swipes at her chin.
“Definitely not!”She chuckles, her focus on the table as she cleans up the spill.I'm sure Roxy will yell at her if she finds the table dirty.
“Why do you say it like that?”
“Like what?”She peers up at me through her lashes, her honey eyes capturing my full attention.
“Like it’s crazy to think she could have a crush on me.”
